Truth time: my New Year’s Resolutions start after Valentine’s Day.
Why? Well, for starters, January 1st is my personal hangover holiday. I’d like to say it ends there, but as any fan of award season knows, the following six weeks are littered with food and booze-centric events that inevitably knock me off course (I’m looking at you, Super Bowl food baby).
Luckily, by the time mid-February rolls around, I’ve celebrated so many pointless events that my body is practically begging to get back on track and on the productivity train.
So, as I dive into self-improvement mode for 2017, I’d like to share the secret weapons I’ve got to to help me kick my (relatively) New Year’s Resolutions in the butt: subscription boxes.
Sparkle Hustle Grow – Starting at 34.95/mo
Sparkle Hustle Grow is my absolute favorite box right now. For any boss babe looking for a monthly jolt of inspiration and new set of skills (this month’s is hand lettering!), SHG is the subscription for you.
My New Year’s Resolution of conquering the world may be starting a month late, but the ladies behind this entrepreneurial girl power box have my back.
Beauteque Monthly – Starting at $15/mo
If my New Year’s goal was simply to have better skin, I’d opt for some outrageously priced cleanser. This goal is twofold though – I want a blemish-free face and to squeeze more ‘me’ time into my schedule. And what’s better for R&R than an at home spa day with cleansing face masks?
Beauteque Monthly is my weapon of choice when it comes to skincare and relaxation. Bonus points? There’s nothing funnier than sneaking up on your husband wearing a sheet mask. Trust me, you have to try it.
One of my goals this year is to develop a more sophisticated palate for coffee. That’s right, I’m one of those Starbucks monsters that drowns my coffee in unnecessary syrups and creamers.
But there is hope for me still! With the help of Heartwood Coffee Club I’ll have no excuse but to drink coffee at home and enjoy the natural flavors of a hot cup of joe.
Hate to say it, but Winter means taking my pup on shorter walks. And though the cold weather in Texas may be short-lived, the guilt of wanting to be a better dog mom propelled me to try out Surprise Pawty – a monthly assortment of toys and treats for your furry BFF.
Let me tell you, Dr. Bert (pictured below) was not disappointed. After 10 minutes of salmon treats and a popsicle chew toy, any sad memories of 3 minute potty-breaks had all but vanished.
