WHAT IS IT
Mosasaur was a type of large, carniverous, aquatic lizard. It was technically not a dinosaur, but a reptile closely related to snakes and monitor lizards. Mosasaurus grew up to 50ft (15m) long and existed for about 4 million years until the mass extinction event that ended the Mesozoic period. This sample consists of a fossilized tooth that once belonged to one of these creatures.
INTERESTING PROPERTIES
• This tooth is at least 66 MILLION years old.
• Fossilized remains of an extinct animal.
USES
This tooth was undoubtably once used by a Mosasaurus to tear apart other prehistoric creatures for food. Prehistoric artifacts are now highly collectible.
