Great fun for the parents and teen in the house. We spent about 3 hours and the use of the electronics was not such a part of it that it felt like "more time on the computer". Most of the puzzling is pen, paper, props, and brain. A great time was had by all and we are looking forward to our next box in February.
I pretty much said I liked everything, but I did specify that although I liked desserts I only wanted one or two. I rec'd a bag of chips and a bag of turkey jerky and the 4 other items were all chocolate candy items or cookies. Also, as it is the height of summer both here and in UT I expected there to be some insulation or less chocolate. Due to heat on both ends (and parts in between) all chocolate items (3 candy bars) arrived in melting condition. Finally one item was past its expiration/best by date even though I specifically said I didn't want any old items. Although this was a bonus item, the past due date made it less than a bonus. The brands were high quality, the curation was okay, but the shipping (especially at almost the same cost of the box per month - thereby creating an almost $20 crate that started at $10) was lacking. I have 2 months left on my subscription and will see how those two months go.
First month of our box and we have tried about 1/2 the snacks so far. There was something for everyone in the family and we created a 1-5 rating system. So far only one snack rated a 2 (5 was the high end) and the rest were 3-5. Pretty good in my book compared to previous snack boxes I've tried. The bonus was my son dove right in and tried a whole bunch of new items.
