If you're thinking about getting this box, you should be aware of a couple of things. First, at the time I subscribed, the box was advertised as having an "autographed book" in each box. This turned out to be inaccurate. The signature is on a bookplate when they have it, which I don't believe is the same thing as an autographed book. Also, in 1 of my 3 boxes, they replaced it with an author letter without communicating the need for a substitution. This was because of COVID-19, which may be understandable but needs to be communicated. A printed off letter is not the same thing as an autograph in my opinion but the real issue is that I only found out about the substitution after sending an email about my confusion. Second, you have to really value the writing exercises. The quality varied from month to month as expected because the topics change. But the box value accounts includes these insights and if you're just in it for "stuff" you won't find the box to be worth it. For the 3 months I received the box, I thought the Conflict theme had more actionable advice while Hook felt a little more surface-level. Third, if you're interested in the physical items, the quality is generally quite good but may not be usable for everyone. Like, in September, there was a pencil pouch, candle, and caffeinated snack bar. I gave away the snack bar because it wasn't really for me.
Love my cactus hugs box!
I've received 3 deliveries of the YA option and love all of them. Everything arrives on time and in great condition.
I love the products! The presentation, variety, and quality all make the subscription price worth it. The superior customer service is just an added bonus.
I have a lot of subscription boxes, and my first Therabox did not disappoint. It was filled with things I can't wait to try, and the products are different from other boxes. Highly recommend!
The coffee I would give 5 stars to. The most recent box appears to be from a roaster that isn't 1910 (unless they just have a different line for some of the coffees), but I'm excited for it. It's a full-size bag unlike some of the coffees that come in other boxes. The books are a gamble. I've received a total of 6 physical books and am excited about 1, will probably willingly read 3 others, and will just give away the remaining 2 without cracking the spine. There are also 6 ebooks that you have to read on a special platform (not Kindle, Nook, or something familiar). Because the unreliable quality of the books, I deducted a star. I may renew the subscription because the coffee is good and some books are good, but it is a bit pricey for that.
I received 2 boxes, with a total of 6 pieces. The first box was a monthly box. There is a bracelet that I LOVE. It is a statement piece that I have not had a chance to wear, but is clearly well made and high quality. There's a necklace I like. It is simple good for everyday wear or layering. The last item was a pair of earring that I wore once. They felt cheap and breakable (small beads on malleable wire) and made my ears itch. The second box, a quarterly that apparently costs more, was a complete miss. There were 2 pairs of earrings and I would not willingly wear either. There was a bracelet that was similar to the earrings in my monthly box. It is fine for layering, but feels cheap. I appreciate that the retail values listed on the site seem to have been adjusted, but it means that the box costs a bit more to receive a lower total value. I would recommend people to just buy what they want from the online store. There are some real gems, but there's also some huge misses.
