I always struggle with what to get my boyfriend. He has everything already. How many ties and cufflinks can a guy have? He LOVES jerky though, so I gave this subscription a shot and it was a hit. He loves it. The jerky itself was high quality and SO tasty. That's right, he let me try a bite! The best part? Jerky is edible so it doesn't pile up like other gifts do. Great subscription with tons of options on size too if you want to order for multiple people (or you just want to live on jerky, which is totally understandable).
Ok Texans, we officially have a subscription box. Texas is not an easy culture to capture without being cheesy or insulting, but My Texas Market embodies the Lonestar State. First of all, the products come from small businesses across the state and they don't disappoint. Secondly, state pride comes through naturally without being obnoxious or overdone like it could be if a real Texan weren't curating it. Thirdly, 10% of all profits go to the Houston Area Foodbank.
That's what being Texas friendly is all about. We take care of our own.
Down to the nitty gritty:
The products that came in my Rodeo Box were BBQ Sauce, a High End Shaving Bar, Chocolate, Spicy Jam, Sustainable Pecan Wood Republic of Texas Magnet, and Beef Jerky. You don't even need to be Texan to love this box, you just have to like good food and quality consumables. It's also worth pointing out they are NOT afraid to send a heavy box, and of course it's bigger than any other box I've ever gotten.
I love this company, their mission, and the product! Support small business & subscribe y'all!
Bubbles & Books might not seem to standout at first glance because after all, there are plenty of bath/bodycare boxes and plenty of book boxes. It's pleasantly surprising how organically the two meld together to make such a unique box. It's truly an experience from opening the box to finishing the book. You get the immediate gratification, but the enjoyment also lasts. Another cool aspect is that you can either keep the book or pass it on to a friend. Sometimes things can pile up when you're getting monthly boxes. Books are something one can enjoy collecting or give as a gift once they are done.
In my Paranormal March Box I received Organic Goat's Milk Soap, a romance novel called "Crashing Souls", and to my surprise a third REALLY COOL AND UNIQUE product: a mini Buddha Board. Mini Buddha Boards retail at about $15 on their own, so at $24 you're definitely getting your money's worth. If you need to treat yo self or know someone who does... get this box. From the packaging to the products, everything gets an A+ from me.
