First I will say that I back up what all the other reviews have stated, Disney products are not cheap but neither are the boxes froma Mickey Monthly and they are in NO WAY close to the value of the boxes. We received a EXPIRED!!! box of animal crackers and a box set of notecards. The box itself was covered in dust and seeing how the crackers are expired it does not surprise me to know how long or old the notecard set was.
When we emailed them regarding how we felt the value was not there are we received expired items we were told how their faq's say they usually only put in two items in the box. Instead of rushing a replacement item for sending something expired they "snail mailed" out a replacement item which we still have not received. I am afraid to know what the most expensive box will have in it.
SAVE YOUR MONEY and do NOT order from them
This box took forever to ship. I thought it was going to be much more themed throughout the box and this was not the case. We received the Boston box finally a month later. It really took forever to ship.
As for the style, it is more of a free for all. This style is overwhelming and confusing. The Boston box has you "collecting coins" which means you need at least one device but multiple would be better. The frustrating part is trying to keep track of not only the coins but also the puzzles that gave you the coin. The hints are no hint at all and many of the puzzles made no sense.
This was nothing like going to an escape room and was not themed as it was advertised. This was just not worth the wait and the pieces were not laminated or sturdy. It was pieces of paper, not even thick cardstock. Not high quality and not worth the wait at all.
This company is trying but they miss the mark and it is expensive mark to miss. We bought both the cheap box and the expensive box for two months and both times we were so upset by the items we received. I knew that the parks being closed would be a challenge but we assumed that they had stock to fill boxes since they did not have it noted anywhere else that adjustments would be made (they now have it adjusted on their site) and instead we received alot of generic items instead of the park items it listed as a "guarantee". For $80 bucks I expected something from the park and giving me a dollar bag of jellybeans as an item shows the quality of what is being sent.
Everyone receives the same style on your first box, it is their "welcome" box. Umbrella, jelly beans, shot glass and for some makeup and for some a small trinket but generic enough to stuff and mail. Nothing felt customized or "shopped for"
Our next box was a pile of melted gummy candies and again NO park items. They "sprinkled" us with extra items which were the gummies and a magnet. The items were basic; mug, spoon rest, hat, key chain and candy. Again nothing that equates to the value that you are paying with the parks "closed". The box was cute and comes with a collection map but the value is no...
I have to admit when I opened the envelope and saw the box I was so very underwhelmed. It looked so cheap and I actually stuck it on the shelf for a few days. I finally opened the box and started looking at everything inside and felt instant regret for shelving it. This was an amazing box!!
With three kids date nights are not an option and we do not really see each other even though we live together. Life keeps us busy and this was a great way to connect together. It took a couple hours to play the games but they were fun. They were all themed around the 80's and arcade style. It got us talking to each other and laughing and just being together. It was so much fun that we actually resubscribed to keep the boxes coming.
Don't let the small box underwhelm you like I did. The items and games inside are clearly thought of and curated to work together. The theme is complete throughout the whole box and it really is a great way to have a date night right from your house. In fact we use the dice to ask our kids some of the questions too. It not only translated into date night for us but for the whole family. A really fun cute box.
If you are looking for a box catered to young girls where you get your values worth then this is the box for you! We have ordered subscription boxes for our kids to keep them entertained during the pandemic and it seems to be a hit and miss on getting a good box. You want to feel that not only are you getting your value but the theme is followed and the items in your box are not cheap items.
I could not believe when my daughter opened this box, it felt never ending! The box arrives in a cute mermaid designed box and was well packed. Nothing was crushed or broken. It came with amazing full value products, the pen alone was from Justice! Not only were the items cute but they all fit the mermaid theme. There was a awesome color yourself backpack with school supplies to fill it. There was a jewelry set, face mask, doll and more. If you are looking to do something for your little one this is the box for them.
