The boxes have gotten progressively worse since my first one (and my first review). New subscribers are offered “bonus” items for posting a good review and at the time I thought it was worth it but after this last one I just opened... I can’t live with myself if I convince someone else to buy this. I still have one or two boxes left I can’t imagine they’ll be very good once the seller sees this review. My “glow” box consisted of 8 items I am absolutely sure I could have bought from the dollar store: a small plastic elephant that lights up different colours, a small roll of hot pink tape, cheap glow bracelets with the label from China still on them (probably the three best items, but still dollar-store quality) face jewels...? Not sure what I’d be using those for... also has the barcode and what I’m guessing is a Chinese language label, a string of tiny lights that must run on a watch battery, a toy gun-shaped object that I assume is meant to light up but I pulled out the little paper and it doesn’t even work. A mystery jar of pink goopy stuff?, “Cream makeup” in neon (glow?) yellow, which I would never put on my skin because it’s likely of similar terrible quality as the other items, and junky earrings that look like they’re straight from the dollar store that I would never put in my body. I have tried to give the...
After some thinking I’ve had to edit this review as I realized how few items are usable for me at all (1). I just got my first therabox and the theme is “Sweet Dreams” which is so perfect for me. I love the sleep journal with science-backed information on sleeping and how to sleep better as well as space to track your own sleep habits.
Otherwise, the items are “pampering” type items rather than more therapy products like I expected, which may be my fault for not understanding the description.
Additionally I am quite sensitive to smells (even good ones) as they give me headaches so immediately upon opening the box I did find it quite strong so anyone who is sensitive to smells should at least be prepared for that, and I don’t really use essential oils as they can be dangerous for pets and I have two curious cats.
With that said, I brought the box to my mom and she quite liked it so I may get her a subscription as a gift for Christmas or something like that. It wasn’t what I expected and wasn’t for me but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad box just that everyone is different and has different needs :)
Also, their customer service was extremely helpful, friendly, and understanding. I think that says good things about the company as a whole.
Probably my favourite subscription box. I had to subscribe through customer service in order to get delivery to Canada but I’m really pleased that I did. The items inside were fun and useful! My favourites include erasable highlighters, the most adorable metal (strong!!!) animal magnets, and the cutest little cassette tape shaped voice recorder to pass along little messages, but there were several other awesome pieces.
Not to mention their customer service is great! My only complaint is that it’s every 3 months instead of every month!!!
