I've received 3 out of the 6 of the subscription I have thus far, and am very much looking forward to the 4th theme. The themes are really nice, and it's great that they can be voted on. They haven't all been to my needs/taste but at the same time, it's things I'll either use more rarely or would feel great about giving as gifts, as the quality of all the products has been fantastic. They arrive on time, are of exceptional quality, and aren't like anything I've seen elsewhere. You seem to get a few stamps every month, a couple of washi tapes, some stickers and papers, it's a good value. I plan to keep this subscription going until my craft storage boxes are exploding.
Honestly, the book choice was great for me, as it was one I was interested in reading. However, it arrived sticky, missing pieces of the end pages, bits of what feels like a tissue left behind & frankly it just feels gross. It's now it's impossible to take the dust jacket off and I prefer to read naked books, not what I expected from a new book. The bookmark is cute, the tea was adorable, but the snacks were also a total disappointment. Getting an introverts box, curated to women with photos of candles, tea, chocolates and instead getting pizza crackers advertised to drink with beer, isn't what I was expecting nor wanting.
I'd rate more at a 4.5 five if I could. I won't touch on shipping, because I ordered during Covid and well, it's a crazy time for shipping. Though I will say that it was nice that they kept everyone up to date on shipping fiascos as well as included a cute little freebie to say sorry for the wait. I will say that the other experiences were quite good. The book was a good book, one that I never happened across before or probably would have thought to pick up on my own but I was glad to read it. I also learned that nothing is more motivating to read a book than knowing 50 more pages leads to a present to unwrap! The gifts did fit the place they were in the book well, it did lend to some connection to the place, and one gift lead to this desire to recreate the moment. I will say that the items themselves are okay but I felt there was a bit of room for improvement for that. For instance one of my items arrived with tiny pieces loose in the box. I was able to glue them back on, but it's not something I'd feel I'd be using without knowing that it would be slowly falling apart. I think my favorite part of this book box, wasn't the gifts necessarily, but seeing really how much thought and care was placed into the experience itself. In the one I tried...
I got an extra book, which you can't argue with, but honestly it's exactly what one should expect for this kind of thing. A stranger whom you can only share small amounts of information about your reading tastes, is picking out books from what is available to suit you. You can tell though, that he does take into account what you explain of yourself and I greatly appreciated that, but not knowing a person, he can only perform small miracles. So, given that, there are some hits and there are some misses and if you're okay with that for the element of surprise, it will deliver. There is also a mix (at least in the box I received) of different levels of the term "used". I received two that looked brand new and one that was very old (my personal favorite). Of my five books, two went instantly into my donate pile, one was a nostalgic keep for me until I can get a nice hardcover edition of (already on my list previous to getting the box), one was interesting enough to try but I don't expect to really love it and the other sounds exactly up my alley. It's cheap fun for a month, but not something I'll be sticking around for.
