In my practice as a psychologist I incorporate mindfulness in my work with clients, and also recommend yoga as an adjunct to psychotherapy, especially for clients with eating disorders and trauma histories. Although I don't work with children I am aware of research showing benefits for children who learn mindfulness and yoga as part of their elementary school curriculum. I have the Yoga Box at my office as a resource for parents who are interested in introducing their children to these wonderful practices. Clients tell me that they love having an activity like this to do with their children that is engaging and interesting for both parent and child. I recommend this delightful way to help children build capacity for centering and self-awareness!
