I ordered both this box and another more popular preschool box and I like this one so much more. It also came with so many more things. The other box, your kid starts off with the first few letters of the alphabet and you have to keep subscribing to go through the entire alphabet. This one is based off repetition. There is no specific first box, you just jump right in. My April box was a spring theme and it included paints, some colored pencils, glue stick, construction paper, flower seeds, some potting soil, dry beans in a baggy with a paper towel, little paper plates, Brain Flakes used as flower counters, and so much more. The book with all the activities for the month has some pages in the back for your child to journal (scribble, draw, or write). A lot of the activities use critical thinking skills, and I was surprised my 4 year old got the hang of a bar graph so quickly for one of the activities. The book also gives suggestions on how to extend the activity to make it more challenging. There are LOTS of art activities. I highly recommend you give this box a try.
I got an email during the shipping time frame saying packages weren't expected to get shipped out for at least 2 weeks past the shipping dates. A few days into April there had been no further mention on shipping so I cancelled my subscription so I wouldnt get charged for a 2nd box before even getting my 1st. It's a bummer because my husband just left (military) and we had just moved. I really felt this box was something I needed in my life ASAP.
Update 4/19/21: I received my box today and it was a mix of mundane and self-care. It wasn't what I expected. It was kind of like when valentine's day comes around and your husband gifts you a new vacuum. I received some strongly detergent-scented linens to be used as a paper towel alternative, laundry detergent, a skin-color shade of nail polish from a brand I don't care for, something you're supposed to dispense onto your toilet paper before wiping, a small package of CBD epsom soak (best thing in the box), and the spoilers (under-eye gel pads, face mask you mix with water, and curiosity cards activity).
I have enough books and we visit the library often so ultimately this box isnt going to be for us as I dont want to be paying for what I dont need. The letter activites are cute, you focus on one letter a week. You'd have to continue the subscription to cover the whole alphabet with this box. I do feel it is very overpriced.
