Q: It only gives you the choice to choose one genre, but if I choose a subscription for several months, is it possible to get a different genre every month?Asked by Kian C., June 2022
This is actually a wonderful question, and we never thought to add a mixed genre option, so we will be adding that in. Thank you! For now, just send us a message after you order and we can just write an order note that you would like a different genre each month. So when ordering, just choose the genre you would like first!
Q: For fantasy books, can I request those with minimal to no romance? It’s really a dislike in books. If not, can I at least request no NSFW as this is a gift for my younger sister?Asked by Salem R., January 2022
Hi Salem! I believe the best thing to do would be to offer her fantasy books from the tween selection to make sure there is no romance.

Update to my earlier review. I did finally receive my first box, relatively quickly after I posted this review. I don’t remember which book I received (since I get books from several other boxes). I was not displeased with the box which included what has become my new favorite pen. There were some bath related products as well that seem pleasant. I have updated my stars on the review page, but shipping was still a 1 because of the extreme delay from the time I was charged and having the subscription renew before receiving the first box. I have cancelled my subscription (at least temporarily until I receive my second box,
I was very frustrated that my first box did not ship before my subscription renewed. Shipping information stated a label had been created and it was sitting somewhere in Pittsburgh. Very upset that I did not get a chance to review the first box before the subscription renewed.

Update: I did receive a handmade journal in a separate package about a week following writing this review.
Overall I liked this box. It had a lot of cute items, and its obvious that some thought went into putting the box together.
The handmade journal was part of why I had wanted this box as opposed to just buying the reader subscription. So, I was a little disappointed that the notebook I received does not appear to be handmade.
I had expected something similar to previous boxes/pictures, and what came in looks like it came out of a bulk package of small notebooks. I wouldn't take any points off for that if it weren't advertised as being handmade in the description under the "subscription" section of the listing.
So far I have enjoyed the book (I'm a few chapters in), and the bookmark is super cute!
The box came with two stickers that aren't featured in the picture. I put them on a journal that I already had before taking the picture.
I haven't really used the pen too much, the sticker on it says its' a Kacogreen brand pen. It has red ink, which is fine for journaling and story writing, and other personal writing, but not really for everyday use (since most forms and things I would use it for have to be black or blue). But I've got tons of black and blue pens, so a red one isn't a bad thing.
I do appreciate the amount of care...

It does not include pens or stickers, which is why you did not receive them. That would be the Writing Box, a separate product, which is around $30 per month. I'm so sorry for the confusion.

Update: the seller contacted me and we realized that some items were missing from my first box. I was impressed that she reached out to me and quickly resolved the issue.
I really wanted to love this box, but it’s just ok. The writing prompts all seemed to be drawn pretty directly from the used book that was included, so it felt like it would be difficult to approach the prompts without bias. It would have been really nice if the first order came with a simple journal, a nice place to keep my responses to the prompts. Everything about the box was just a little underwhelming. A great idea, but the execution could be better.
