Q: Hi - I have a friend who would LOVE this - but they are allergic to eggs. Do the next few recipes include eggs?Asked by Julie C., November 2022
Hi Julie,
Unfortunately most of our kits (including the next few months) do require an egg(s) to be added by the baker themselves at the time of cooking. Possibly an egg substitute could be used but that is not something we have looked into. Also even though we do not add eggs directly to our kits we can not guarantee that any ingredients we use do not contain any egg or have not been contaminated by any egg related products prior to our purchase.
Kind Regards
Stephanie.
Never got my 3rd box
Hi Janet,
So sorry to hear you did not receive your 3rd box. USPS tracking on the package does show it was delivered on May 16th. I can only assume it was delivered to the wrong house or was stolen from your porch. Had you contacted us 6 months ago, when it happened, we could have sent a replacement for you.
Kind regards,
Stephanie.
As someone with a special talent for messing up any sort of cooking or baking, I definitely appreciate how clear and easy to understand the instructions are. I bought the box as a Christmas gift for my mom, and it's been fun to spend some time working on these with her every month! The fact that we end up with delicious desserts afterwards is just a bonus.
We got British Bash to engage our special needs 11yo who loved and binged the Great British Baking Show. The boxes arrive well-packaged and include all but the wet stuff for each recipe. Recipes are thoughtfully curated and include a great little history on each card. The whole process is fun and easy and the end products are unique and a blast to share.
Excellent subscription! Everything you need is included, which is awesome. Excellent customer service
I received my first baking kit in December. Everything arrived in great shape and I really enjoyed making the pies. My second kit arrived in January. This would make a great gift gift to those who love to bake. I will be ordering this for my daughter as a birthday gift.
I liked this last box, because it contained a recipe that is simple to make. Can't wait to try it or the Lancashire Lemon Tarts! Was a little disappointed on the timing of shipping.
Hi Melissa,
So glad you are enjoying the boxes. Unfortunately we have no control over USPS once the boxes leave us. We do however always ship priority so do the upmost we can at our end to get your boxes to you promptly.
Regards
Stephanie
To put it simply, I absolutely love these baking kits! I am a huge fan of the British Baking shows, and have always wanted to attempt the desserts I've seen made on tv. This subscription service makes that possible, and in such a fun and stress-free way. I've gained baking confidence and had an awesome time making and sharing these desserts. The boxes themselves are arranged very well; obvious care and attention is placed during packaging. The ingredients and tools that are provided are organized and of great quality. The instructions, especially the images and the helpful baking tips, are absolutely top-notch, as they serve as the perfect guide throughout the baking experience. I've received three boxes through my subscription and purchased two previous boxes, and everything has come out so well and tasted great! I've enjoyed this service so much I've recently updated to a full year subscription! Of final note is that the customer service I've received is just as great as the service itself. If you're debating this box, please do yourself a favor and try it out! Highly recommended!
Hi Meagan, Thanks so much for the kind review. It is always lovely to hear feedback and know people are enjoying our boxes. Happy Baking.
Make a delicious tangy lemon curd and a delicate frangipane, then combine both in a sweet short crust pastry tart. Sprinkle the top with flaked almonds and once cooked add a dusting of powdered sugar. Delicious with a hot cup of tea. Kit makes ten individual tarts.
These yeasted buns are a traditional Easter treat in Britain. The soft buns are lightly spiced and filled with dried fruit. A paste shaped into a cross is laid on the top before baking to give them their distinctive look. Enjoy these buns on their own or toasted with lashings of butter. Each kit makes 12 buns.
This moist, light loaf is packed full of flavor. The slight crunch from the walnuts and the sweet chewiness of the dates creates a great alternative to a traditional fruit cake. The cake is delicious with the mocha fudge topping but traditionally is served in slices, spread with butter. It is, of course, perfect with a hot cup of tea. Kit makes a loaf that serves 6-8 people.
In celebration of Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee we have created a special cream tea box. Make British style scones flavored with orange and spotted with cranberries, then serve with the included blackberry jam and whipped cream. The box also includes Union Jack napkins, sugar cubes and a selection of traditional British tea. (Kit makes 6 scones)
This classic tea party cake is a firm favorite in Britain. Moist pink and yellow almond sponges are arranged in a checkerboard pattern, sandwiched together with apricot jam and then encased in a layer of marzipan. Just the thing for an afternoon pick-me-up with a cup of hot tea. (Kit serves 8-10)
A crisp puff pastry circle is filled with spiced currants to form a small round pie. They are topped with a sprinkling of sugar which caramelizes when baked. They are best enjoyed warm with a hot cup of tea. (Kit makes 10-12).
Make a sponge base then top with a coconut meringue, flaked almonds and a sprinkle of dried raspberries. Slice and enjoy with a hot cup of tea for an afternoon treat, or add some fresh raspberries and cream for a delicious dessert. (Kit makes 9-12 slices)
Make finger shaped buns and fill with strawberry jam and crème mousseline (a custard based cream filling). Top with glacé icing and sprinkles. Perfect as a dessert or an afternoon pick me up with a up of hot tea. (Kit makes 8 buns.)
Steamed puddings have been popular in the UK for hundreds of years, Spotted Dick is one of the most well known and is a quintessentially classic English dessert. Make a light moist eggless sponge, spotted with raisins and serve with a hot creamy vanilla sauce. This is great comfort food as the weather begins to cool. The kit serves 8-10 people.
This loaf originated in Britain and is named for the Jamaican ginger used in its creation. Use the kit ingredients to make a sticky, moist cake infused with ginger and golden syrup. Top the popular British loaf with honey butter icing and stem ginger pieces to produce a delicious treat. Enjoy on its own with a cup of tea, or warm it up and serve with ice cream. Loaf makes 6-8 servings.
Make a lighter version of traditional British Christmas Cake by combining a festive mix of dates, sultanas, currants, apricots and cranberries with a lightly spiced sponge and top with marzipan and royal icing. Enjoy these cakes as a Holiday dessert or as a treat with a hot cup of tea. Kit makes 8 individual cakes.
