Q: This keeps advertising that it arrives before Christmas. However, it is February 11th??? What is that about? Just an outdated web page?Asked by Kara O., February 2020
Q: I want to give as a gift. Are there options to buy x number of months or a quarterly subscription for a gift?Asked by Faye S., December 2019
Yes, gift subscriptions can be purchased in prepaid terms of 3, 6 or 12 months. If you would like to receive boxes quarterly, send us a message after signing up for a prepaid subscription and we'll set your account to ship quarterly.
Yes i believe so!
Q: I still haven’t gotten my January box, it’s been in Philly for weeks and I live in California. And now I’ve paid for my February box before I could give January a try. This isn’t right at all. Asked by Jamie H., February 2021
USPS has had unusually long delays due to the pandemic and the holiday shipping rush. The package arrived on Feb 3rd. If you do not wish to continue your subscription, let us know and we will issue a refund for the renewal charge. I went ahead and applied a 40% discount to your next renewal. This discount does not expire. Thank you again for your support and understanding as this shipping issue is outside of our control.
Q: Do I understand that I could subscribe to a box without the book? If so, what is the cost?Asked by Alden C., October 2020
Yes, our subscription without the book is called Essential. It costs $35.00 and you can select it by clicking the dropdown box next to Culture Carton Standard on the Culture Carton page.
I’ve been looking forward to receiving this box! I loved the book, The Sea. It’s been on my list for awhile. I also really like the King x Portland socks. They are really soft and seem to be good quality. I wish the socks had matched the pocket square and tie, but overall I’m happy with my purchase.
This box was awful. The listed prices on that little card of what you gave me is absolute B.S. “$15” for that little sh*tty dollar store flask? Yea right. The other two items were basically just long toothpicks for “kabobs” and were listed at $10! Laughable! And an apron made from the worst material ever and they had the audacity to list that at $60 lmaooo. The book, Treasure Island, is the only thing out of the package that I thought was cool but I paid a whole $50 for one book, some glorified toothpicks, a cheap MINI flask, and a sh*t apron. Definitely would never have paid the money for this box if I had knows what I was going to be getting. I don’t think you can even call it a subscription “box” because the book and the rest of the stuff came separately and wasn’t even in any creative packaging. Just the slim, cardboard box with the stuff thrown in there. All in all, do not waste your money on this box. If anything, just subscribe to the book club. But even then, I’d recommend just going to barnes & noble and buying one you like yourself.
Overall, this box is great. However, I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my dad, and the first two boxes came within a week of each other, and the last box came only 2.5 weeks after that. Understandably, COVID had something to do with this, but it was still frustrating and not as exciting to give as a present.
Shipment took longer than expected. And the book that they sent is cheaper on Amazon than what you pay for the monthly subscription.
I purchased this as a gift for my husband, and planned for just the 3 months. Turns out my husband has loved everything he’s received and we’ve kept it going as something just for him each month. He’s had several awesome pair of Sunglasses, pretty nice watches, socks, ties, and other great stuff. He’s also really enjoying all the books. Communication with this crate has been super quick and accommodating/helpful. I highly recommend this as a gift or just because!
My husband loves these!
I wanted to like this box so bad because I LOVE reading and I am learning to enjoy stepping up my lifestyle. The first box I received was nice but the wow factor was damped by the fact that I already received 90% of the items from another subscription box about a year previous. So, I basically paid about $40.xx to own a book. The items did not go to waste but there is little incentive for me to want to try again. I will not cut Culture Carton for that but I think it is worth a mention for others to be aware of before getting excited. When I look at some of the past boxes I am happy that I did not subscribe again because those would be just duplicates of what I already own. Which would frustrate me.
I gave this as a 6 month gift subscription to my 23 year old son. He loved it so much, I ended up extending it. My son aims to be cultured and the book selections are an excellent mix of old and new - definitely all things someone well read should touch on.
The fashion is mostly good - on trend for sure. He particularly loved a watch he received. Many of the gadgets have been fun and useful for him as well.
I sent them an email about my box missing and someone contacted me this morning and offered to send me a new box! Thanks Ryan for the Christmas miracle!!
I received my first Culture Carton box this month and couldn't be happier. The book is excellent, the leather products were put to immediate use, and the Blender Polarized Shades came just in time. Can't wait to see what the next box brings.
