Q: What are the ages for this box? I have a 3 & 4 year old and wondering if this would work for our family or if I should wait till they are a bit older?Asked by Elsa C., May 2019
Hi, Elsa! Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in GIRLS CAN! CRATE! Our crates are designed for kiddos 5-10 years old. We’ve had younger subscribers who’ve needed more help from an adult, which can be a great time for bonding and learning together, but we’d recommend waiting at least a year. Let us know if we can help with anything else!
Q: I'm wondering if there are differences in the box contents depending on the age of the girl. A 5yr old is very different from a 10yr old in capability responding to different presentations.Asked by Pamela W., April 2020
Great question! There aren't different activities based on age, rather the support kids may need with different activities will vary. Our 5-year-old subscribers may need to read through the activity book with a grown-up and get some extra hands-on help during the activities. We think this provides kids and a grown-up with a really awesome way to connect and spend time together each month! A 10-year-old, on the other hand, would be able to work through the crate on their own if they prefer. Some crates may skew a bit older and others a bit younger, but the activities are designed with all ages in mind and tested with kids in different age groups. Also, depending on the activity, we provide multiple ways that subscribers...
Q: So for the multiple child crate is there additional materials in the box or extra activities? How does that work?Asked by Noreen O., November 2019
Hi, Noreen,
That's a great question! Sibling crates come with enough supplies for a
second child to have their own GIRLS CAN! experience---there's another
GIRLS CAN! Activity Book, a second fearless female button, a second play
prop, and additional activity supplies. The only exception to this is if
that month's crate includes a GIRLS CAN! board game. Hope this helps!

Q: I want to give this as a gift but have the first box mailed to me (all boxes thereafter directly to recipient) so i can wrap it for birthday party and explain to her. Is this possible?Asked by Ashley H., November 2019
Absolutely! When you subscribe, enter the address for the first shipment.
After that shipment has arrived, you can login to your account on our
website (or email our support team) to change the address for future
shipments to the recipients address.
My Granddaughter loves the activities that came in this box! She lives in the Outer Banks with her Momma and Daddy, this box provided activities about sharks and Ichthyologist Eugenie Clark. She’s looking forward to her next box. Thank you
This is a fantastic box! I love your multiple child option, since I have twins - it's so refreshing for them to not have to share (e.g., argue over) a given project. The box is phenomenally well-thought-through and cohesive. My 7-year-olds enjoy the projects but need a bit of adult help, so they clearly have room to grow into this box, too. I also love that the women featured are not the obvious choices of famous or iconic women, so this takes them well beyond what they learn in school.
Bought it for my niece and she absolutely loved it. She was super excited to do the paint project. Educational and fun!
So before opening our first box I googled the lady featured. I had never heard of her and only was able to find a little bit of information without looking too hard. Then we opened the box. It come with REAL scissors and safety goggles. The book included has quite a long story!!! We are looking to add this to our home-school Social Studies Curriculum and I have changed my subscription from monthly to 12 months so are never without a wonderful female role model to look up to.
I'm absolutely thrilled with this crate! I subscribed for my daughter, who is 3 years old. She gets super excited when it comes each month. We have both loved reading the stories of the amazing women that have been featured, and the activities are very engaging. She role plays for days that she is the woman highlighted. I love seeing her get into character! While she is too young for some of the activities, I have easily adapted them as needed. I've been extremely impressed with the thought that goes into each crate and the quality of materials. It is well worth the cost. I would highly recommend subscribing.
I have a gaggle of granddaughters from 4-8 who come together to learn about powerful women. Having a crate available to do with them is a grandmother's super power.
Order this for my daughter for the summer. She absolutely loves it. We got this because it educational and shows her that women can be anything. Can’t wait for next month
Very underwhelmed by the package my granddaughter received. There was NO crate, just an envelope with some stuff about firefighters, including a not clearly readable story about women firefighters and a simplistic experiment involving bottles. Extremely overpriced if you pay the full amount. Hope the next delivery has an actual box and better materials inside. WMara
Hi Wayne,
We're sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your mini-mailer. To clarify, you did purchase a mini-mailer and not a crate -- our mailers are smaller versions of our original crates, which is why you received a padded envelope as opposed to a box. Our mini-mailers come with the GIRLS CAN! activity book, 1 hands-on STEAM activity (in the Gutsy Firefighter mini-mailer you received, this was the fire "tornado" vortex activity with the bottles, vortex connector, and dye), tips for parents/adults on how to foster that month's featured trait in their kiddo, and a collectible sticker. I'm sorry to hear that you don't feel this warrants the cost of $18.50 (which includes $4.50 in shipping). If you'd like to upgrade your subscription to...
We are SO impressed with our first crate! We ordered it for our daughter's fifth birthday, and she and I are enjoying learning together. Everyone at her birthday party thought it looked really fun too!
I got this for my 4 year old god daughter. The first one was all anout art. She loved it and wanted to do everything in one day... there were so many different activities and it comes with EVERYTHING you need which is awesome.
