Q: I crochet some but couldn't get the hang of knitting. But I'm up for learning this or any other fiber art I'm not familiar with. Is it good for beginners as well?Asked by Irene G., April 2020
Our box (right now) rotates between a knitting project and a crochet project. In May we will send out a cute fanny pack pattern that is Tunisian crochet. The next month we are planning some chunky knitted slippers wit hand dyed yarn.
I’m working on a way to pick either/or and have similar projects. It’s slow moving because it’s only me and my skeleton crew right now. :)
So to answer your question I would say that basic knitting and crochet is needed though I try and pick patterns that are not too difficult and if there’s something tricky in the pattern I try and explain it or tell people where to look.
I think if you don’t know how to knit you might find...
I really love it. The best part is that I get an email letting me know it’s about to renew. I always forget about my subscriptions renewing so this is super helpful for me.
I was excited to receive this box today with most everything I need to crochet a basket. The materials are quality and the instructions in color and very detailed. I wanted to get started right away but was disappointed to find I need a crochet hook and tapestry needle, neither of which I have. I wish I atleast knew before it arrived that I’d need them. I know myself and now thus kit will end up sitting here and never get done since I didn’t get everything I needed to do it. The option to add these items to my box even for an additional cost would have been great.
Hi Pamela, We're so sorry about that. We thought customers would have special tools they like to use, so we didn't send a hook. Our mistake! Your hook is on the way! We will make sure that the box includes all the tools going forward. :)
Loved the large amount of the T-shirt yarn and I didn’t know they made wooden bottoms for baskets I’ve done plenty of baskets I usually cover a thick piece of cardboard with whatever I have handy loved learning that there’s actually bottoms made for baskets this is the first box and it’s a home run I might cancel my other fiber craft box nothing ever new with it love this one thanks
The embroidery kit is perfect! It has all the supplies and directions to finish a simple project... The heart design with embellishes has the right amount of difficulty! I am sure I will be pleased and satisfied with the finished work! Thank you
