I bought the October and November boxes from their website since it was black friday and I got a discount. That said I will probably get a subscription from cratejoy since I will hopefully get a gift card for my birthday. I didn't see an option for a gift card on their website but I am sure it is in the works. So I promise this is a real review.
I have never bought a subscription box before. I am very delighted I chose this one as a first. I was so impressed, and pleasantly surprised. From the packaging to the items in the box everything has been well thought though and not just thrown in to fill a box. The items show quality craftsmanship and care for the theme of the book. I will definitely use everything that came in the box. (I am currently wearing the cozy socks.) Which is a huge plus.. If I wasn't going to use an item I would have no shame in passing it on to someone that I know would. The books are awesome, and not the same that everyone else is sending out . THE PENS!! They are wonderfully designed, and beautiful. I can't say enough about them.
I am glad they are using items from other small businesses in their box.
The shipping is priced well and the boxes came 2 day priority via usps. (Mine came 2-4 business days...

This is a nice, elegant YA book box. Unlike the other YA boxes, this one is tightly themed. Instead of receiving swag loosely related to the book you get (usually related to other YA books or series), this one seems to try to use swag related to the book itself. I am impressed with their first offering—can’t wait to get my next box.

Lovely curation for my first box. I really like how all the items were for the book included in the box, rather than a conglomeration of different YA books I may not be familiar with yet. My favorites are the two bookmarks, the sweet little wooden pencil, the fox sleeping mask, and the honey sticks. I admit that I wasn't comfortable with eating the enclosed gummy candies since it looks like they'd been repackaged. (Just very cautious until COVID is over) Also appreciated that the box arrived very quickly after shipping. I loved it and will continue to subscribe.

I bought this as a 3 month Christmas gift subscription for my daughter who loves YA books. We are current FairyLoot subscribers and wanted to try out this new book box. So far she has received the November and December box and both boxes were tightly themed with enjoyable and usable items. Both boxes contained books she wouldn't have selected for herself but she loved immensely. Beta has become her all time favorite book. Before selecting this box, I reviewed the curator on youtube and found her to be thoughtful and creative with her reasons for selecting the items she puts in the box, as well as the books being modest and teen friendly which I really appreciate. With so many book subscriptions out there, I always try to look for clever or unique ones. I Smell Books was adorable and very clever. I loved how each item pertained something connected to the book. I would recommend this book box for people looking for a good book with useful little items that won't get overwhelming month over month.

The book was pretty good for being YA. I usually read adult fiction, but didn't see anything I liked so I got this one, it was a good book. Kept my interest. I also like the fact the author of the book made the necklace, signed a book plate and just tons of other stuff in the box. The tea smells ok, but I dont really drink tea. The fandom pin and the stickers? Meh. Anyway, the book was good.
