Q: I have a 4 year old who is just starting to learn to read. Would this subscription be appropriate for her? Asked by Taylor C., December 2020
Q: Is shipping included in the subscription when we have to send the books back?Asked by Rachel S., October 2020
Yes! Shipping is included! So glad you asked.
Q: I have 3 kids in 3 different reading levels. Is it possible to request books for k, 2nd and 4thAsked by Amanda H., December 2019
Yes! We'd love to send all of your kids books. They'll all love opening it together. The first order is full price for the month and then after that $5 off for the month for the first sibling. Use the code SIBLING5 and $7 off for the 2nd sibling. Use the code SIBLING7.
Q: Do you have to return the books each month or can you keep them? Asked by Brandi L., November 2019
Great question! Many of our customers wanted to keep the books so we
created a "Keep the Books". You can keep all of the books for $20 or keep
the books you want to keep reading for $5 a book. Or, just return all of
the books, and we'll send you a new round of Just Right books!
So happy with this subscription box. My little reader has expanded her sight words and reading comprehension this past summer with the help of Just Right Reader's fun activities and great book choices. You receive a selection of books catered to your child's reading level and interests, activities to support them, and wonderful prizes as incentive to keep at it.
Thank you JRR! We are so excited to start 1st grade!
We love our Just Right Reader subscription! We're starting our second month now and my toddler has recognized more and more sight words, it's amazing. She has gained so much confidence in reading the just right books. She loves coloring the reading chart, completing the summer reading challenge and getting prizes every week. Highly recommend it for those looking reading supports.
I was looking at different tools to help my daughter continue with the reading skills she learned in Kindergarten. JRR is a great! My daughter was happy to receive a package with her name on it. Inside her package was 7 books, sight words, summer reading chart, a light pointer, a stamp, a cape and mask, a knock knock joke, a guide for parents, a prize when she completes and a return envelope when we are done with the books. She immediately read 4/7 books. Sara, the owner is quick to respond and sends new books immediately. We are on our 2nd set of books!
We love JRR! I was looking for something to help my kids not be victims of the “summer slide” and found Just Right Reader! My kids look forward to opening their books and getting prizes for reading them. They have come a long way since starting JRR a couple of months ago. Couldn’t recommend it enough!
My almost 1st grader has really enjoyed her JRR subscription! Coloring the reward chart and getting the prizes has been really motivating... and getting new books to master each month has been super exciting. The book curation has also helped her explore different topics, refreshing for me to have a break from princesses too! It has also been great to have support from the reading specialist staff during summer break. Rock on, JRR!!!
We started with this program so my younger daughter would have Summer "homework" to do just like her big sister and WOW, we are blown away by just how much my 4 year old learned in such a short amount of time! She loved the reward system, coloring in her surfboards for the minutes she read and she loves reading her books just like her big sister does! I HIGHLY recommend this for any age. It is fun and simple and most importantly my daughter is really understanding the basics of truly reading.
As an elementary teacher (taking time off to raise my boys) I was excited to give Just Right Reader try. The box did not disappoint. The books were high quality and had so many great attributes I'd look for when reading with a beginning reader (repetitive wording, exciting pictures, simple text, etc). Along with the books came reading tools I actually used in the classroom: "laser pointer" to spot known words, letters, or track reading, an alphabet chart, reading necklace, and prizes for completing tasks on the reading journey!
Although my son is a bit young (and too into playing) he still had fun spotting letters, filling in the blanks when reading (thank you quality pictures), and getting prizes for completing his reading checklist!
I would definitely recommend JRR to any parent looking to support their kiddo at home in reading (it comes with pointers on exactly how to do that, you don't need to be a teacher to use the kit!). When I return back to the classroom and find parents asking how can I help...I will definitely point them in this direction!
