Q: silly question i'm sure, nevertheless as an adult beginner in violin could i subscribe? Asked by Rebekah G., March 2021
Thanks for your interest Rebekah, not a silly question at all. We actually already have adults already who are happy subscribers. I've been playing and teaching for many years, and they didn't have this sort of thing when I was a beginner. I'd have been all over it! :-)
Q: how do i know what size box to put? there is no sizing chart according to my kids ages?Asked by Heather D., February 2021
Hello Heather, and thanks for your question.
Each box is the same size, and most of its contents are the same regardless of the child's age. Once you select a plan (monthly, 3-mo prepay, 6-mo prepay, or 12-mo prepay, you will then be prompted to answer questions about which instrument the child plays, its size, and how long they have been playing, as well as what size t-shirt they wear. This allows us to make sure that any sized items are perfectly suited to your child.
I was so excited to hear about a subscription box that focused on kids learning stringed instruments. The first box, for December, far exceeded any expectations I had! The theme was perfect for the time of year--the Nutcracker! The box was so nicely and creatively put together, bursting with all sorts of fun and interesting items geared towards the Nutcracker. We have the Deluxe box for a child taking violin. The skills and techniques page has really given my son structure in his daily practice, and he was so excited to get the violin tuner that was just like what his teacher uses! Also, the Nutcracker book has been a wonderful way to introduce the story to him. I never actually read the book either, so it's been fun for me, too. :) And the background of Tchaikovsky and his music was such a nice educational addition to the box. There was an awesome "Cool Kids Play Strings" t-shirt, which my son likes to wear during his zoom lessons with his teacher. :) The Nutcracker ornament was a nice memento to hang on the Christmas tree, and having some of the music to learn has been great. The Nutcracker and music themed puzzles were a fun activity to do during Christmas break as well. And my son always asks for the "magic" rosin for his bow, the sparkly blue rosin that came in the box. And who can forget the fun Nutcracker stickers, and a great violin sticker! All is...
The theme of our December Box is The Nutcracker. In this box you'll get a 3-in-1 step-by-step lesson on selections from The Nutcracker, holiday games, exclusive info on Tchaikovsky and the history behind the music; holiday Magic Rosin - a 'tween favorite, The Nutcracker book (by E. T. A. Hoffman), special Nutcracker stickers - a great practice reward; music themed pencils to mark your part, and a surprise gift!
It's your chance to learn the music from Mozart's most famous string quartet! In this box you'll get a 3-in-1 step-by-step lesson, a must-have Who Was book on the most famous composer, collectible bust, a one-of-a-kind t-shirt, sticker sheet, and more! Makes a great practice reward!
Our February theme is all about Beethoven and his most famous Symphony No. 5! Along with the music, you get scales and technique exercises, a cool t-shirt, punny music stickers, a collectible Beethoven bust, a practice journal, AND a squeezy ball to strengthen your fingers!
