Q: Is there a typo? It's almost $5000.00. It's the price of a car. A real car. Asked by Jacqueline D., April 2022
Thank you for your question, Jacqueline...yes, it's absolutely a typo! Thank you for bringing that to our attention!
Q: silly question i'm sure, nevertheless as an adult beginner in violin could i subscribe? Asked by Rebekah G., March 2021
Thanks for your interest Rebekah, not a silly question at all. We actually already have adults already who are happy subscribers. I've been playing and teaching for many years, and they didn't have this sort of thing when I was a beginner. I'd have been all over it! :-)
Q: how do i know what size box to put? there is no sizing chart according to my kids ages?Asked by Heather D., February 2021
Hello Heather, and thanks for your question.
Each box is the same size, and most of its contents are the same regardless of the child's age. Once you select a plan (monthly, 3-mo prepay, 6-mo prepay, or 12-mo prepay, you will then be prompted to answer questions about which instrument the child plays, its size, and how long they have been playing, as well as what size t-shirt they wear. This allows us to make sure that any sized items are perfectly suited to your child.
My 10 year old son (intermediate level violinist) is really enjoying his first KidStrings Box! At this stage, practice can start to feel tedious as repertoire/skills become more challenging. KidStrings Box provided the perfect materials to shake things up a bit! Everything was creatively curated in this month's Star Wars themed box. My son now starts his daily practice engaging with something from his KidStrings Box. It’s been a very special bonding experience - reading about John Williams, completing the puzzles, and playing the Star Wars music together. There's plenty of fun extras, too! (Think inflatable light saber, cool candy, and glow sticks to turn your bow into a certain Star Wars weapon!)
My son and I are eagerly anticipating the next one!
Awesome. A lot of fun, good theme and music choices.
I was so excited to hear about a subscription box that focused on kids learning stringed instruments. The first box, for December, far exceeded any expectations I had! The theme was perfect for the time of year--the Nutcracker! The box was so nicely and creatively put together, bursting with all sorts of fun and interesting items geared towards the Nutcracker. We have the Deluxe box for a child taking violin. The skills and techniques page has really given my son structure in his daily practice, and he was so excited to get the violin tuner that was just like what his teacher uses! Also, the Nutcracker book has been a wonderful way to introduce the story to him. I never actually read the book either, so it's been fun for me, too. :) And the background of Tchaikovsky and his music was such a nice educational addition to the box. There was an awesome "Cool Kids Play Strings" t-shirt, which my son likes to wear during his zoom lessons with his teacher. :) The Nutcracker ornament was a nice memento to hang on the Christmas tree, and having some of the music to learn has been great. The Nutcracker and music themed puzzles were a fun activity to do during Christmas break as well. And my son always asks for the "magic" rosin for his bow, the sparkly blue rosin that came in the box. And who can forget the fun Nutcracker stickers, and a great violin sticker! All is...
