A great way to learn languages

I subscribed to One Third Stories for my 4-year-old and 3-year-old who are/will be home educated. They have both very much enjoyed the stories and have learned lots of French alongside. I firmly believe in learning through narrative and One Third Stories allows this to happen very effectively. They enjoy both listening to me read the stories and listening to the audio recordings. While they are as yet too young to do the reading or writing tasks, I still find we can have a go at most pages of the activity books by making them speaking or listening activities and the same with the flashcards. The stories are very nicely illustrated and I feel that both the writers and the illustrator have avoided negative gender stereotypes (something which many contemporary books still fail to achieve). Finally, when I contact One Third Stories, I always get a friendly, personal and swift response to any query I have.

I wasn't sure about signing up to yet another 'miracle language resource but after emailing Alex and Corrie I signed up for 1 to see what it was all about. Well, what a great way of expanding a child's vocabulary!! After only a week my 2 kids know about 90% of the vocab in the book. Brilliant. The only improvement would be getting additional activity books so the kids could have 1 each....maybe there's a way to get extra that I'm not aware of yet? If you're unsure about signing up I would say go for it, you won't be disappointed. A firm family favourite now!
