Hi Cindy, because so many subscribers requested it we have broken the age range out further. The categories are now newborn to age 2 (board books), age 3 to 5 (picture/toddler books), age 6 to 8 (chapter book with pictures), 9 to 10 (chapter books), 11 to 12 (chapter books). Hi Eric, I'd start him on the 9 to 10 yr old box then adjust the age range depending on how challenging he finds it.

My daughter is 7 and just learning to read. The books that were sent we’re definitely not for her. We read together and I don’t mind chapter books with pictures but these were far above her age range, and I wouldn’t consider them appropriate for her. I’m giving them away to my niece and nephew.
