Our March box is a totally tactile clay shark head project! Kids will learn about sharks of all kinds from the book, Sharks by Seymour Simon and published by the Smithsonian. We love to help make scary creatures not so scary through art! The clay is an air dry PaperClay which we love because it's super soft and easy to work with. Our video tutorial shows one way to create a shark head and kids are encouraged to experiment and be creative with theirs.
Order by March 14th to get this box!
Q: what age is this for please?Asked by Erin W., December 2020
Hi! Thanks for asking about our product. The boxes are designed for ages
roughly 6-11 (elementary school age). We have some customers as young as 4
and as old as 17 when there are multiple kids in a family. They are
designed for the parent to offer some assistance - depending on the child,
it may be just helping to set up the workspace and make sure the table is
covered etc, or it may require helping to read the instructions. We also
have video tutorials now. Lots of our parents enjoy actually doing the
projects with their kids!

Q: When will you have crates available again?Asked by Jennifer M., May 2020
Q: Is it possible to order a single box- such as the December Snowflake Bentley? Asked by Carmen C., December 2019
Hi Carmen, Thanks for asking! Cratejoy Marketplace does not allow us to
sell any products that are not subscriptions. You can find individual boxes
on our website, which is outsidetheboxcreation. We can't add actual links
to these emails. If you get there and have questions, you can email us
through the website or call us.
Thanks,

Q: What are the adult boxes like!Asked by Robin B., August 2019
Hi, thanks for asking! Our Art With Friends Boxes come with all of the
supplies for an art project for 2 people (you can actually probably stretch
it too if you're willing to share supplies,) cocktail napkins, food & wine
pairing ideas and a simple recipe that go with the theme. We have 4
projects currently: Italian Paper Marbling, Watercolor, Easy Retro Mono
Printing Project and a Zen Drawing Project. What specific questions can I
answer?
Thanks,
Beth
I was very impressed with the great customer service at Outside the Box Creations. They were very helpful with issues that arose with shipping. I would definitely recommend this company for its excellent service! I ordered this box for my elderly father with Alzheimer's. Very nice material inside - hope he enjoys it!
This is such a great box with high quality items. Not only did we receive a fun craft to do as a family, we also learned so much while doing it which is great way for kids to learn.
This box was about self portraits (selfies.) Kids painted self portraits focusing on expressing their own personalities!
This box was all about helping kids to break everything they see down into basic shapes and draw them!
Our December Box theme is snowflakes! Snowflake Bentley is the book, the element of art is contrast. This box also delves into symmetry and hexagons. The project utilizes watercolor pencils!
Our November Box was about the art of Henri Matisse and organic and geometric shapes.
Our late December Box is a mono print project about Positive & Negative Space! Kids love this book which beautifully illustrates the concept of positive & negative space and blows their minds! Then they'll create their own artwork with a brayer, foam print plate & paint!
Our February Box was about the age-old symbol of love & connection, the heart! The book is the Invisible String and the project is clay, pop art hearts!
This box is all about texture; both real, felt texture & visual texture! The book illustrations are textured paper collage. The box includes texture rubbing plates, oil pastels, scissors and glue to do rubbings and create their very own collages!
Our March box is all about Pointillism and the art of Georges Seurat and Paul Signac. It includes a set of Reeves gouache paint tubes & lots of "dot making tools" for kids to experiment with!
Our April Box is STEM or STEAM at its best! It explores bioluminescence & the wild sea creatures deep in the ocean using creamy artist crayons called Gelatos.
The May Box is a super fun STEAM project that explores the ideas of creativity & individuality - expressing those through art and design thinking! The project utilizes shimmery gel pens.
Our June Box is wild about Picasso, Cubism, shapes & dogs! And who doesn't like dogs? Kids learn about realistic art vs abstract art and how to break their drawings down into smaller shapes that they paint with watercolor!
For the July Box, we selected a book by a black author, Max & the Tag Along Moon by Floyd Cooper, to show our support for the Black Lives Matter movement. It's summer! Let's have some fun in the sun with moon themed sun prints.
