Q: Hey Piquant, pretty sure from yer photos that yer shipment fits into a typical postal box i.e. envelope size, but could u confirm? I don't wanna go up to the post-office to p/u every month :) Ta! BAsked by Beth M., March 2020
Hi Beth!
That's correct that our monthly subscription product is sent to yer regular mailbox (if you live in the USA). We ship 'em in 6x10 flat envelopes via USPS first class mail to help keep our prices as low as possible. For international orders, we have to purchase postage for small parcels due to regulations, and while they are mailed in the same flat envelopes that fit in post boxes, each country's postal service has their own regulations on where to deliver items shipped as small parcels.
Yes, it should fit. The spices come in little, zip-lock, flat containers, and the total package is pretty flat and not much bigger than the recipe cards that are included.
Q: How many servings does each flavor kit make?Asked by David J., April 2020
Each spice packet will allow you to make a recipe serving at least 4 people at least once. Often, we send enough spices to make the recipe more than once, but that varies across blend and recipe.
It depends on the recipes as each recipe serves 4-8 people. I had to save some of mine for parties because of the serving sizes. I'm sure you can probably freeze some as well
Q: Can I do a prepaid 3-month subscription? Asked by Rachel M., March 2021
Hi! We only offer 6 & 12 month prepaid subscriptions. However, you can
create a subscription of any length by purchasing a monthly
renewing subscription and letting it renew the desired number of times
before cancelling.
Q: I only received one gift last month My daughter signed me up for a gift each month thru June When will my gift for February come? LynnAsked by Lynn B., February 2021
Hi Lynn, we always ship the monthly subscriptions on or near the 15th of each month! That means your Feb order is on the way. We send monthly subscriptions via USPS first class mail to your regular mailbox. There is no tracking on these for US recipients (only int'l orders). So, because there is no tracking we can't say exactly when it will arrive but usually it comes within 2 weeks. Please be advised that USPS has announced delivery delays due to the pandemic. We cannot guarantee delivery times.
I purchased this subscription box as a Christmas gift to my brother. He loves to cook and has a career as a chef. He says the spices are all very unique and full of flavor. He looks forward to received new spices every month. Thank you for putting together a lovely package.
I signed up for this box on a whim earlier this year and I loved it! I looked forward to seeing what new recipes I'd get every month. Not every recipe was for me (I wish there was a way to say no seafood recipes or like, only vegetarian recipes or something when you sign up) but they have alternative recipes for the spices you get on their website and I really liked that. If you're looking for a way to try new things with your cooking, Piquant Post gives you a good excuse at a really decent price.
Well packaged and great quality. I like the fact that each spice has enough for 2 of the corresponding recipe. You can either make the featured recipe twice or use the leftover spice to create your own masterpiece.
Immediately after purchase last year, I contacted Piquant Post to cancel any recurring subscription. I only wanted one year as a gift. They did not, and I was just charged $120 again.
I think the spices are okay, and there were some interesting ideas. However, when we got our second December shipment (since they didn’t cancel me) it was the exact same spices as last year. That means they are charging you an additional year for the same products. I probably wouldn’t be so annoyed that they didn’t cancel me if something unique has showed up.
Hi Beth, sorry you ended up unsatisfied. We offer great customer service if you actually reach out to us for support (evidence: we responded to your email today on Xmas eve in ~15 mins). We send multiple reminder emails before any charges are made and have a generous refund policy - we will refund *any* unshipped items if you forget to cancel after it renews. Plus there is a 2 week grace period after renewal. We refunded Beth for the balance of unshipped items.
Finally, we don't recommend that customers have our renewal reminder emails sent to an email address that you don't check anymore like Beth did (we only know this because we responded to her email and her auto-responder told us that she...
I gave this as a gift and the recipient is enjoying the 2 she's received so far.
We are only one month it but it’s a huge success!! The spices are high quality and a nice small quantity with a delicious creative recipe. No need to buy a whole jar of some obscure spice you might never use again, ALSO, great to know you can order extras (very affordable) of most products on the Piquant Post website.
Perfect for the chef in your life (especially if you get to eat what they make)
So excited to try the recipes. Very nicely packaged
I got this box as a present for my parents. They absolutely love it. The recipes are interesting and require a moderate level of cooking skill.
Can't complain! I got this as a gift for a friend and she loves it!
