Q: Are the books hardcover or paperback? Asked by Courtney B., March 2021
Hi Courtney, I choose new releases, whatever format they're in. The way the publishing industry is going, these are mostly the large size paperback, known as the trade paperback, but I will buy hardback too. The mass market paperback is the small one, usually released about a year after publication but I don't buy that old if I can help it. The second hand book could be any size but as much as possible, unless it's vintage, I buy the trade paperback for these too. I hope that helps and thanks so much for your interest.

Hi Emily, unfortunately that is the cost of shipping. Until recently, it was $12, but new restrictions imposed by US customs have resulted in the price hike. Our post office here is working on a solution so please check back with us, as we will reduce the cost of shipping if and when we can.

The curator seems to know exactly which books you need to read each month. Both books are always fantastic reads. The accessories are very creative and it’s abundantly clear that the whole thing is put together with care and a genuine passion for books.

I contacted the seller a after my first box arrived. It was awful. I sent them pictures and then no response back. I awaited my next two boxes hoping that the first was a mistake. they were not any better. The description does not meet the product. I will admit that the "new" book that was sent did meet expectations and I look forward to finishing them. Aside from that nothing else met the description. the boxes arrived in the mail beaten and half opened. I am sorry that this didn't work out. I was truly looking forward to this book crate experience.

I know full five-stars reviews seem far-fetched but honestly, I just can't describe the childlike excitement I felt opening my first box. I received two books I'm SO excited to read (side note: I'm a graphic designer, and sadly i ALWAYS judge books by the cover. It seems this month I got two books with the most beautiful covers ever, I can't stop looking at them). I also got a bunch of candy, two awesome coffees, a tea, an illustration i can't wait to frame and two postcards. A whole lot of beautiful joy in a perfect package, it felt like receiving a love letter. It's tough to buy from another country, with shipping costs raising so much - but it's worth it.
