This November, we'll be covering one of our most important topics yet: STRUCTURE. In addition to exclusive teaching tools from a bestselling author, an exclusive writing contest, and a chat with a publishing pro, you'll receive something warm and cozy to sip on, something to keep that cozy beverage company, something to jazz up your vision board with, and something to place on your favorite bookish tote bag. Get Scribbler, and Get Serious!
Order by November 15th to get this box!
Q: does anyone know if it's Scribbler is still shipping despite C19?Asked by Omar F., April 2020
Hi there, Scribbler! We shipped out March boxes and are offering a digital April box on our shop as a separate purchase (not part of the subscription). We plan to be back to shipping physical boxes in May. Thanks!
Q: I think you should really give us an option of what we want, because I got my box and it has a book about vampires in it, I don't really care for that, I write fiction about animals for kids....Asked by Ramdom G., August 2020
Q: I am interested in writing scifi, horror, like Stephen king and twilight zone. Would this be a good box for me to subscribe to?Asked by Pam K., July 2020
Hi Scribbler! Thanks for your question! We cover a wide range of writing topics in our boxes, but most themes can be applied to any genre. Themes like, "How to Write a Great Hook," or "Perfecting Your Ending," or "Creating Memorable Characters." Our goal is to keep you motivated, improve your writing, and educate you on your publishing options so you can churn out that next Stephen King style book. Keep writing, Scribbler!
It’s not specific to a genre, but to the skills of becoming a better writer. This month’s box contained two books in genres I would never have personally picked up. With the author’s comments in the passport that accompanies one of the books, I have learnt so much from a source I would have dismissed because it’s not the genre I write. My writing is better, because Scribbler makes me look outside my comfort zone.
I never received any updates or email notifications on the status on my box. I placed an order on March 29, I am about to be charged again on April 28 and have not received a box. I emailed customer service and was told that the had my record as showing a purchase on April 16 with a renewal on May 28. That is not correct. Also- how would they have my record? I never provided any kind of number? I have attached the pictures of my receipts. Bummer. Was looking forward to this box but I don't want to deal with this customer service again. Couldn't help but note a snippy tone towards the end as well.
I love that there is a box for writers.
This is by far my favorite box that I have ordered. I received my 2nd box this week & was delighted with the products inside. I have been very impressed with the email updates and literary contests that they send information on. I absolutely adore the candle this month & the journal from last month. I always to the 2nd box to leave a review so I have some idea of consistency & both boxes were delightfully well curated.
Was delighted to receive my first box of the month from Scribbler. I was interested in the new writers' journey as well as the encouragement provided along the path.
The book looks fabulous. This is an excellent way to be exposed to writing genres and styles that are different.
So many cool writer/bookish things! My favorite thing is the monthly edition of little writing passports.
I adore this subscription! As a writer, I’ve enjoyed the exercises and the thoughtful curation of books! The first box was slow to ship, but exceeded my expectations once it arrived. My second box just arrived and it didn’t disappoint.
If you're thinking about getting this box, you should be aware of a couple of things. First, at the time I subscribed, the box was advertised as having an "autographed book" in each box. This turned out to be inaccurate. The signature is on a bookplate when they have it, which I don't believe is the same thing as an autographed book. Also, in 1 of my 3 boxes, they replaced it with an author letter without communicating the need for a substitution. This was because of COVID-19, which may be understandable but needs to be communicated. A printed off letter is not the same thing as an autograph in my opinion but the real issue is that I only found out about the substitution after sending an email about my confusion. Second, you have to really value the writing exercises. The quality varied from month to month as expected because the topics change. But the box value accounts includes these insights and if you're just in it for "stuff" you won't find the box to be worth it. For the 3 months I received the box, I thought the Conflict theme had more actionable advice while Hook felt a little more surface-level. Third, if you're interested in the physical items, the quality is generally quite good but may not be usable for everyone. Like, in September, there was a pencil pouch, candle, and caffeinated snack bar. I gave away the snack bar because it wasn't really for me.
I did enjoy this book. I found the information helpful. I liked reading a book I had not heard of and getting more than only the book. What I was not as pleased with is that most the books I knew nothing at all about which is okay to discover but many were not genre's i would typically read. I like that they had an author chat but i always had to work so was not there to participate. The information was good but sparse. The book goodies tended to be small and things i could easily attain. I just feel for what you get it is kind of expensive for me. That being said only to make the box better because all in all I do REALLY like this box just is expensive for me for what your getting.
I purchased 2 boxes and both of them were very disappointing. One they wont tell you the book choice that the exaggerate about. All I wanted to know was the book choice so I didn't end up having 2 of the same because I wanted to purchase other products from there store. There response was I was a spoil sport. Seems like a bunch of kids work there. Don't waste your money on the monthly box just buy whats in the store that way you get what you want. Also the youtube conference calls are with editor's that push to sell more books for you to buy. Save your money and use your local library for help with writing your book.
I would like to cancel my subscription. I was anticipating something different. I thought this was going to be more writing focused. Thank you.
