Q: I want to send my husband a box for Valentine's Day. Do you have boxes that are available to ship around Valentine's Day? And what alcohol boxes would you suggest? I just want one for now for VdayAsked by Melissa L., January 2021
Thanks for considering gifting S&S! We're happy to help you out with selecting a Valentine's gift for your husband. Please email us via the CONTACT page on our website and our support team will get back to you shortly. Cheers!
Q: What shipping service do you use? The address I want to ship to doesn't accept USPS. Asked by Rachel T., December 2020
Q: Is there a reason this box doesn’t have the “gorge as a gift” subscription option?Asked by Jenny D., December 2019
Our gift subscriptions are set up differently from the ones offered on the
Cratejoy Marketplace, so they are only available on our site, because the
Marketplace is not able to offer them at this time.
The way our gift system works is that we send your giftee an email—on
whatever day you wish—to notify them of your gift (with a personal message
from you), and then they'll be prompted to claim their gift, creating their
account and providing their preferred shipping address.
We do things this way for a few important reasons. Firstly, our boxes are
perishable and need to be refrigerated on the day that they arrive, so we
want the people receiving our boxes to know to expect them. And secondly,
people are sometimes quite particular about the liquor they want and don't
want...
Q: If I can’t find Pisco what can I useAsked by Malena K., September 2019
Grappa is the most comparable thing to pisco flavor-wise! Just make sure
it's around 40% ABV.
Copper & Kings and a few other domestic distilleries also have some unaged
grape distillate (sometimes places will call it "white brandy") that will
work.
You could try white tequila or grappa. We had to ask our liquor store to order it for us since they don’t normally carry it. We’d never heard of Pisco before receiving our S&S box. It’s a smooth and pleasant liquor. Really glad we tried it, we ended up buying another bottle.
I asked the same question! I was told to go with an aged rum.
Aged something like 5–8 years. :)
Our son gave us a gift subscription and then renewed it when we said how much we enjoyed it. We have recommended the monthly box to so many people and intend to give subscriptions as gifts to friends. Not only are the boxes well crafted and details, but the company has amazing customer service. We have done an awful lot of subscription boxes ranging from wine, clothes, and personal items to snacks and bespoke gifts. This is the first one that we have wanted to stick with!
Thanks for the wonderful review, and for sharing the love about Shaker & Spoon, Marta! We're so happy to hear about your positive experience with our boxes. Cheers!
I love this box. I look forward to trying new crafted drinks every month. Customer service is great and fast at fixing any issues.
Thanks for the review, Lisa. Cheers!
We really enjoy our Shaker and Spoon box. Buy just one bottle of whichever liquor the box is for, and you have the ingredients for 4 different drinks.
First box came quickly, packaged well. Drinks were good, nice to try new cocktails.
I loved my first Shaker and Spoon Box celebrating "Ginuary"! All of the drink recipes were creative and unique and the 2 I have tried so far were delicious. My only suggestion to Shaker and Spoon is to provide a little extra of ingredients that are not as precisely measured. For example: I may not have quite enough of my Prickly Pear/Hibi
scus syrup for the last drink. My "bar spoon" measure may not be quite the same as what the recipe intended. A little extra syrup would prevent this problem.
The only downside was the length of the wait for shipping (not in their control). The cocktails are inventive and crave-worthy!!!! I am already trying to figure out how to make some of the syrups they sent so I can have more of these amazing cocktails!!!
I was not aware that the alcohol was not shipped with the product, but everything else was perfect!
I got the 3 month subscription for my boyfriend for a Christmas gift. The ingredient's were interesting and of high quality. The drinks were delicious and the instructions were easy to follow. We can't wait for the next box!
We're so glad the cocktails were a hit for you! Can't wait for you to try the next box. Cheers!
The best box ever to get you out of your cocktail comfort zone!!! So much fun trying new things!!!
We're thrilled to hear that our boxes are inspiring you to expand your cocktail horizons! Cheers to that 😊
A gift for my sister-in-law and she couldn't stop raving about the box. She was so impressed with the packaging, content and how wonderful drinks came out. She was kind enough to share a cocktail with me and it was delicious. We both loved that there was one bottle of alcohol involved to make such a variety of cocktails
Thanks for gifting Shaker & Spoon, Kathleen! We're thrilled to hear about your experience. Cheers to many delicious cocktails to come!
“Liquor of the gods,” “the water of life,” and “the drink of heroes”: just a few of the laudatory nicknames given to brandy over the years.
Our expedition into Canadian territory required just two things: a bottle of the country’s rye whisky, and a thirst for creative cocktails.
We curated 3 collabs pairing up chef and bartender, featuring boundary-pushing ingredients assembled with masterful technique and flair!
This box featured vibrant low-ABV cocktails showing off the versatility of a barroom staple, making for a swanky and sophisticated affair.
Just in time for the Derby, this collab with the Broken Shaker featured a refreshing highball, creative julep, and summery old fashioned.
This toast to the noble Negroni featured 3 variations on the classic: a spritz, a tropical sipper, and even a gin-only adaptation.
With this box, we kicked our feet up and stayed put in joyful Jamdown with 3 hometown hosts as our guides to help us “Stir it up,” little darlins!
You may be familiar with pisco’s subtle floral and fruity flavors and the traditional Punch and Sour to which it lends its name, but with this box, we had a few other ideas on how to keep it flowing this August. Yes, we came down with another case of Pisco Fever right on time for summer—and the only known cure is relaxation with three refreshing cocktails.
Scotchtember: a brand new month for your calendar, and our chance to show off and celebrate Scotch in a new light. It was an expedition for a month-long discovery of some all-new ways to enjoy Scotch, featuring Caer Maiko Ferguson’s Japanese-inspired highball, Robert Sickler’s rich, decadent concoction, and Aaron DeFeo’s floral, spiced, and herbal old fashioned!
To pay homage to the history and deliciousness of Mexico's national treasure, we set the Mezcal Moods with three drinks that head out in entirely different directions but ultimately meet back up at the destination of Mmmmmm—featuring Caer Maiko's smoky mango lassi, Jules Mavromatis's diabolically drinkable blood orange brew, and Sam Jimenez's rich, earthy, and aromatic agave-based libation!
For November’s box, we featured cocktails that celebrated all things natural and wild. Via recipes that highlighted ingredients from their necks of the woods, our featured bartenders offered up glimpses of three majestic National Parks and Monuments near and dear to them—and donated their proceeds directly to those lands for preservation and beautification efforts.
Just in the nick of time, Party Punch: Bourbon & Bubbles made its way through the workshop to arrive for holiday celebrations. With rich, oaky bourbon and effervescent sparkling wine as their foundation, the three classy and nuanced concoctions soared from there, taking punch's traditional five segments of flavor and expanding on them in delightfully surprising ways.
