Thanks for your inquiry. I am not sure our kits will be the best option for your grandson since he is on the older end for our kits. Our kits are good for 5 - 12 years of age. If he's still interested in them, I would recommend the Deluxe box and opting for the month to month so you can cancel if they are too young for him.

The ideas and overall design of these science kits were fun and engaging, but the downfall of Spangle Science Club is the poorly written instructions. Both my 8-year-old daughter and I struggled with completing the projects because it seemed the authors skipped important steps or details of the projects. This resulted in a lot of frustratin. I would not get this science kit again as a result.

As a former science teacher, I thought these kits were pretty cool for the most part. After a year however, my son was no longer interested in them. Their autorenewal policy is NOT transparent, there is no reminder email sent ( although I received tons of other emails). I cannot cancel after they just charged my credit card for another $235. I will NOT recommend them to another parwnt or teacher, and will in fact ( as I just did) warn people away due to this shameful business practice. Really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
