Q: What comes in the first box? I want the robot will that come if I want it?Asked by Mar A., August 2020
Thank you for your question. We ship the same first Welcome Box to new subscribers within each age range. The age 5-7 Welcome Box is personalized for each child. If, however, you would like a specific box, please email your order information to the address provided in your confirmation email and we will try to accommodate your request (if our inventory permits). Note, however, that the boxes are designed to be sent in sequential pairs. For example, the HeroME Robot Box is a follow-on to the Future Telling Sundial Box. Thus, consider starting with the first box of a pair so the lesson makes sense to your child. Please feel free to message us with any other questions....
Q: Is it possible to purchase one box (for a single/one time gift)?Asked by Mary G., November 2020
Q: My daughter is 4 1/2. Would she benefit from these with help from parents? Or should we wait 5 months until she's 5?Asked by Elissa B., March 2020
Thank you for your question. We do have 4 year-old subscribers who enjoy
the activities with their parents' support. Whether you should wait until
your daughter is older depends upon how much independence you'd like her to
exercise. One of the reasons the kits are suggested for a minimum age of 5
is because of the manual dexterity needed to complete the projects. For
example, activities may involve cutting, drawing, squeezing droppers,
applying stickers, applying glue and assembling multiple wood pieces. The
reading will be slightly higher than the 4 year-old level, so may require
some parent explanation. The underlying lessons, however, such as not
giving-up, calming down emotions and thinking about others are great for

Q: I have three granddaughters, 4, 6, and 8. What would you recommend for them—one box or two? And which age group if just one? They work well together. They all have birthdays in early June. Asked by Cynthia R., December 2019
We recommend 2 subscriptions - 1 of each age series. The 4 and 6 year-olds
can share the age 5-7 series subscription. They will need some support to
do the activities, so can work together with their older sibling. This is
a great collaborative activity and gives the older child a chance to mentor
the younger two. There will be some overlap in the deliveries, so when the
children receive the same or similar (aged-versions of the same activities)
boxes, they can do work together as a family. It would be wonderful,
however, for the older sibling to have something of his or her "own",
especially as this journey is to develop one's own "superpowers." When an
age 8-10 series box arrives that is different, the older child...
Not only did the boys LOVE their Superpower surprise boxes - the customer service was A-MAZ-ING. When I ordered these it wasn't only "one of those days" it had been one of those WEEKS, and Pamela was on-the-ball, in record time to assist and fix with a smile. Those are the employees that really great companies are made out of. I can't tell you how much I needed and appreciate that level of commitment and personal touch in that moment. I recommend the Superpower academy subscription boxes kids of ALL AGES!! <3
We have been ordering this for my 6yr old for about a year now and he has loved every single box! He looks forward to delivery day with such anticipation. He loves to build the projects and read as he goes. This is good for almost any age. The craftsmanship is beautiful and worth every cent.
I bought this subscription for my grand daughter. She loves it. It also helps keeps us connected as I live several states away. She knows Nana is thinking of her and sending her a gift every month.
I really like the parallel of the superhero having powers and my child gaining skills that promote growth mindset.
Not only are the boxes phenomenal, but the customer service is outstanding! Our family situation is unique and Pamela reached out to us to ensure we got something tailored to our needs. She was also very accommodating when we asked to have multiple boxes shipped to us at once. I have already recommended this subscription service to multiple friends and family members - if you're on the fence about this one, GET IT. You won't regret it!
Great Product. Great Service. It has been the best thing for my 8yo daughter. Thank You!
So I absolutely adore this for my five year-old son who has been exhibiting a ton of frustration and issues around anger management. He gets so upset with his legos (for example) when they don't do what he wants them to or he drops something he's been working on. I've been working with him on meditative and visualization techniques but... he's 5, It's not easy for him to remember to be mindful when things aren't going his way. He was so super excited to get this box! He immediately created an entire story around it about how the "coy" (mentor to all people super) must have been watching him and knew he'd make a great cadet. He was adamant to begin and finish all of his missions immediately and I've been using it as a reminder that they coy may be watching him to determine if he is really cadet material and what would a good cadet do right now. Just fantastic! I don't think this would be great for him at age 10 (as mentioned in the recommended age range) but for 4-6 maybe 7 year-olds, definitely awesome! He's convinced that when he finishes his missions at the academy, he'll receive his super suit. Guess I need to start shopping for that ;-)
My 6 year old twin boys and I LOVE the Superpower Academy box! I found it when I was searching for some tools to use to help with Growth Mindset for them when they were 5. They were so hard on themselves and discouraged when something didn’t happen as the expected - whether it was a marble run or a Car racing track or practice writing spelling words. Doing the Superpower Academy activities and talking about the messages in each one really put us on the right track! We have our next boxes on the way now and we are all checking the mailbox every day for them! Thank you so much Superpower Academy for helping my boys find their inner superpowers!!
BRILLANT! I had high expectations when I purchased this as Christmas gifts for my two nieces (5 & 6) and nephew (6). I wanted to gift them something different. The lessons are deliberate and packaged as fun they can identify with. Who wouldn’t want to be their own superhero? The kids (3 different families) constantly send me videos of their projects and their parents all tell me it is the one gift they have been going back to after all the Christmas excitement has settled. The boxes are fun and unique. I love the learning that I’ve given the kids. As they’ve told me, “Superheroes have feelings too!” Pamela is responsive and was quick to personally answer the few questions I’ve had along the way. This is a perfect product for modern times and will be my “go to” gift from here on out.
We loved Superpower Academy for so many reasons. Of all the different games and toys we've purchased over the years, this is the first to really encourage growth mindset and design thinking. We've tried other kits from different companies in the past, and while those were fun, they didn't really encourage creativity or problem-solving because there was a set of instructions you needed to follow and only one right way to do things...With Superpower Academy, it was so refreshing to see my 7-year-old son engrossed in a project where mistakes are a good thing! And even though the kit came in a box, I love that it encouraged him to literally think "outside the box." After the tail of his glider kept falling off on his first design, he started looking around the house for materials he could incorporate into his design to make it more stable and fly better. It was amazing to see that spark of creativity and enthusiasm.
"CRASH AND LEARN": Your child will join a secret society of heroes and be sent on a secret FLIGHT mission! Freddie Try Again will teach your child to "stick with it" as he learns to fly. Then, your little hero will practice growth mindset and resilience as he or she builds gliders. What works? What can be improved? It won't be easy, but heroes never give up!
Evie Explosion is learning to manage her feelings. Every time she feels upset, she explodes. She even blows a hole in her bedroom roof! By joining Evie on her adventure, kids learn about the importance of emotion regulation and take ownership over their own feelings. Kid Heroes create a Mindoscope to explore their emotions. “What do frustrated emotions look like?” “How does watching the Mindoscope settle make you feel – calm or relaxed?” This is a favorite!
Nancy Not Today wants to do so many things but is too scared to try. Kid heroes join Nancy as she finds the courage to raise her hand in class, stand-up for a friend and more! It doesn't all go as planned, but taking good risks sometimes leads to things better than we imagine. Kid heroes are then asked to find their own courage. They build a story dice tower and create their own comic book. Which BIG IDEAS will they share and which will they save for another day?
Our “Save the Trees” box was inspired by Dr. Seuss' "The Lorax." Macho Mike and his friends come across a T-Rex in the woods and start a war with the big beast. But, Mike feels something isn’t right and uses his superpowers to discover the truth. Amidst the chaos, no one notices the trees in the background who are getting stomped and chomped! Trees have no “voice” to speak up for themselves. Superpower Academy heroes receive a "Secret Mission" to SAVE THE TREES!
