I subscribed for 6 months. Out of the 6 months, I only liked 2 of the books. Some of the others were okay. My main complaints were that they are supposed to be sending new releases. One of the books I got was 2 years old and it was new to paperback only. I read a lot and it's misleading to advertise new releases if you're including older titles. My next issue was with shipping. I received a damaged book. I emailed customer service and they completely ignored my email. Basically, the surprise experience isn't for everyone. If you read a lot, chances are, you might have already read their selection. And their customer service isn't anything to write home about. I would rather follow their page on Instagram and if their book selections interest me, I'll order from Amazon. They don't add anything to the experience of book buying.

The letter was just a photo copied piece of paper and the book is huge which I don't like. A larger book means I can't just carry it around and read when I get a little time. It's also one of a three part series which doesn't sound like a hidden gem at all.

Oh no! We are so sorry to hear that you were disappointed in your Book Drop mailing. The letter was photocopied because the author of this month's mailing was kind enough to hand-write the letter for us. Typically our letters are received digitally before we send them to the printers but this month's author was super nice and handwrote the letter for our Book Drop mailers. Due to our volume we unfortunately cannot promise a handwritten letter to our readers so the letters must be reproduced somehow. We are extremely passionate about "The Mask of Mirrors" and love diving into a big book - especially when it's the first of a brand new series! We hope you decide to start reading, it's fabulous!
