Have been very happy with this box! Books have been good! Enclosures are interesting and pertinent.
I love my book drop subscription! I look forward to seeing what book is picked each month and I never fail to love it! The packaging and shipping is also great.
My favorite time of the month! I absolutely love the books they choose. I get exposure to so many books I otherwise wouldn't have heard of. Very excited about their new fantasy subscription!
Just got the first novel from my new book subscription, The Book Drop. I love that it's a women-led independent bookstore (rather than shopping from a company owned by the world's wealthiest). It arrived promptly with a cute bookmark and some info on the subscription service. The book was quick and easy - light reading - but entertaining. I finished it in about 2 days. I signed up for a hybrid of light "chick-lit" reading and historical/literary fiction called Books for Bubbly and Tea. All their subscription options are cute monikers like that. I appreciate having books just arrive, without having to do tons of research into authors, stories, reviews, etc., as I get decision fatigue too easily. It allows me to keep up my reading and still select a few other hot books to fit in, too. Definitely thinking about getting my mom a subscription for her birthday!
I subscribed for 6 months. Out of the 6 months, I only liked 2 of the books. Some of the others were okay. My main complaints were that they are supposed to be sending new releases. One of the books I got was 2 years old and it was new to paperback only. I read a lot and it's misleading to advertise new releases if you're including older titles. My next issue was with shipping. I received a damaged book. I emailed customer service and they completely ignored my email. Basically, the surprise experience isn't for everyone. If you read a lot, chances are, you might have already read their selection. And their customer service isn't anything to write home about. I would rather follow their page on Instagram and if their book selections interest me, I'll order from Amazon. They don't add anything to the experience of book buying.
Hello, thank you for your review! We are so sad to hear that you did not enjoy The Book Drop. Please allow more than 12 hours before customer service responds to your email. We are a small team of devoted booksellers who can only do so much! We look forward to you following us on social media and hope that should you like one of our future titles, you will buy it from another independent bookstore instead. Happy reading!
I purchased a 12 month book drop subscription and I mixed tea and coffee books and have loved the selections and the bookmarks that come with each book. The letter from the author is a neat touch.
To be honest the books that the book drop has sent me the last few months are often ones that I would’ve passed by and never thought to read (I lowkey still judge books by their cover and then by the blurbs, I know it’s so immature but I can’t help it!) But with all of that when I open the books they send, I’m immediately hooked! They are amazing!.
So thank you to the book drop for sending me such dynamic books and for opening my eyes to other great authors!
I was highly disappointed in the book that I received. By the time I received the book, I was already committed to receive the next months book. $21 for a paperback book is too much!
My boys have been loving their books. I got them a young adult and elementary package and the books have been diverse with great themes so far. I love that we may not have picked them out ourselves but getting them in the mail is so special (with beautiful presentation) and we have trusted in the curation. So far all have been great and I know my boys may have been surprised at how much they liked some of the stories. It has been a great way to introduce them to new genres. I have been reading along with them and enjoyed each of the books so far! I am actually going to gift a girlfriend with a subscription since we have been loving it so much!
Love the books I have received thus far and would recommend this subscription to everyone!!
I absolutely loved my first box from The Book Drop. They hit it out of the park on the first try with the book and the amazing self care upgrade additions. I can’t wait for this months box to arrive!
I've been using the Book Drop for about 5-6 months now, and I have been loving the books so far! And it's so much fun to open them up every month!
I have been using BookDrop for a short period of time but I’m already excited to see what else is to come! The curation is great and introduces me to books I might not have seen otherwise. I also love that it is a book subscription that doesn’t send a bunch of additional items but there is the option to add on. I personally don’t want random things (even if they’re cute) and appreciate a book-only subscription! Highly recommend and can’t wait to see what’s coming next!
I absolutely love The Book Drop and eagerly await my delivery each month. I love the genre names and options to select a combination with f different genres. I also like that my monthly book club subscription supports a local book shop. I highly suggest The Book Drop to anyone looking for a monthly book subscription service.
I purchased the middle school box as a present for a niece who's a voracious reader. All the kids in my family are big readers, and love them as gifts, but it's hard as an adult to keep up with their various genres and know what books they might appreciate. All of the selections have gone over well, and we talk about the books and what they're about while we go on walks. I had a cool aunt who worked for a publishing house when I was a middle schooler, and this feels like Cool Publishing Aunt As A Service. I'm planning to renew my niece's subscription and try it out for myself as well.
I have been a Book Drop subscriber for almost a year. The books are great, shipping fast, and customer service stellar. My favorite book lately has been Much Ado About You. Sending books about running a bookstore in England made me so happy.
Have yet to read my first book, currently finishing up a book about Lou Reed by Anthony Decurtis. It looks like a good choice and I'm looking forward to digging into it. Shipped with care in tissue paper. The only problem so far is the long delay from shipping to delivery. You can't fault bookdrop for that , it's that mess of a delivery service called USPS. Looking forward to more books. It's nice having someone pick a good book for you . Even though I buy and read a lot of books it's skmetko daunting to find something you like. Prices are comparable.
I subscribed for my middle grades kid to reignite his interest in reading - his curriculum at school has been a litany of bland books about cis-white-male boys doing traditionally boring things. The Book Drop’s curation of titles is amazing. The books are written by a wide array of authors from diverse points of view, cover many disparate genres, and are all age-appropriate. Their good for him to read on his own, but also good enough that reading with him is fun, too. Our first selection, I Can Make This Promise, a narrative about a young girl’s discovery of her indigenous heritage, is one of his favorite books. Both totally outside our experience and completely relatable. It makes my job as a parent so much more pleasant to have this amazing selection of books. :)
Highly recommend The Book Drop, and will be getting my YA aged kid a subscription of his own.
A fun subscription! Great book and I love the extra goodies! Reasonable shipping speed and well packaged. I recommend this Seller.
I got the young adult subscription for my sister and she has been loving it! She’s has enjoyed every book!
I was searching online for an independent bookstore that had a subscription service when I came upon The Book Drop. I Immediately was impressed by the different possibilities that were offered, and the well-written descriptions of not only the groups but the overall operation. I signed for the tea group and so far, the two books that I have received are solid reads. Better yet, each book I might never have picked out myself. It was wonderful participating in my first virtual book meeting with the author, too. To sum it up, the subscription is affordable, the book picks are amazing and the process easy. Thank you so much. You've made my reading life all the better.
I surprised my mom with The Book Drop over the holidays. The first book arrived in January and she was pleasantly surprised. When I told her about that bookstore itself she became excited, and after reading her first book I got an antsy call asking when the next one would arrive!
My mom has received two Book Drops so far. She’s enjoyed both the books, but is also so excited to see what comes next. Highly recommend the Book Drop subscription.
I'm so happy that I discovered this subscription box! In January,I subscribed to The Book Drop for the books for tea option, and I'm already hooked. I'm very excited to see what the next book choices will be.
I am so pleased with my first Book Drop. I subscribed to alternating Books for Tea and Coffee. I likely would not have picked up the January Books for Tea title for myself but, it is a great read.
Love this subscription!! Just read Much Ado About You and really enjoyed it! Such a great escape from everything happening in the world. I look forward to each new book. The Book Drop makes me feel like I’m getting a gift from a friend each month!
