A delicious scone-like cake (similar to a rock cake), flecked with spice and citrus, packed with juicy raisins and topped with dried cherries and whole blanched almonds to form a rather fierce looking face. There is no need for a food processor or Kitchen Aid type mixer for any of our recipes. We may state occasionally that there is an optional use of a machine for ease or speed but they are never necessary.

British Bash has delivered in every way. The boxes are packed nicely. You are given a shipping notice and they arrive right on schedule. The ingredients are perfectly labelled and the baking recipe is very easy to follow. The recipe cards included have great photos, step by step instructions, facts about the bake, and variations if you need them.
The customer service is great. They respond fast to emails and are perfectly polite!
I have enjoyed the recipe I have made and it has provided a great activity to do with the family, with the added plus of having a great treat at the end!!

My first box was the tea loaf. It was delicious! The recipe was easy to follow and I love having the dry ingredients all measured out and ready to go. I wish the recipe card included the measurements for the dry ingredients, because I would love to make this again. I am really looking forward to my next box!
So glad you enjoyed the tea loaf, we unfortunately can't add the measurements for the ingredients at present but are working on it. We will however email you the recipe so you can make the loaf again.

A moist loaf made with tea from Yorkshire. The addition of dates and raisins adds sweetness without the need for lots of sugar. Delicious with the drizzle and almonds included but traditionally served in slices spread with butter. November's box is Banoffee pie, a rich delicious dessert made from bananas, toffee and cream. The pie base was originally a sweet short crust pastry but this version using digestive biscuits has become more popular. Enjoy as a special after dinner treat or with a hot cup of tea at any time. Your box will arrive containing all the non perishable items you will need, all you need to add is butter, milk and a banana. All boxes now contain compostable packaging.
December's box is a British Holiday classic, make 12 individual Mince Pies. We will guide you through making your own mincemeat and sweet shortcrust pastry from scratch. Mincemeat is a perfect blend of mixed dried fruits, butter, sugar and spices cooked together with the included orange juice or substitute in your own Brandy or other spirit. Perfect warm or cold and excellent with a hot cup of tea.
Our January box will be Eve's Pudding. This Victorian era dessert is a delight of simmered slices of spiced apple topped with a sponge, and baked until the cake is golden brown. It is served hot with lashings of equally hot custard. Eve’s pudding is the ultimate comfort dessert for a cold winter’s night. And don’t forget, always great with a cup of tea or a hot toddy.
A classic British dessert: a dark sponge cake with hints of molasses made with sweet dates and soaked in a rich toffee sauce. Eat it sliced hot with a dollop of whipped cream or your favorite vanilla ice cream. For a whole different experience, enjoy a slice, a few days after baking, spread with butter, and consumed whilst drinking a hot cup of tea.

Very popular in Britain these are the younger sister of the American cupcake, however smaller and more delicate. Made with a delicious chocolate sponge, a hole is cut into the top of the cake and filled with chocolate hazelnut butter icing. The disc that was removed is then sliced in half and placed onto the cake to resemble wings. Sprinkled with roasted salted chopped hazelnuts to create a delicious dessert or afternoon treat.
