I decided to try this box after another subscription home decor box was no longer available. They seemed to have a similar asthetic to the other box, so I decided to give it a try.
The first box was mixed - a couple of cute items (ceramic tray, cup, and bud vase) but the rest of it either didn't fit my style or was downright baffling (a cedar plank with leather ties for... something? A piece of untreated 2x4 with a slit cut in it?) I chalked it up though to an off box - not all of them are winners - and decided to see what next month held.
I just got that box today, and unfortunately, it was more disappointing than the first. It contained: A glass bud vase and small artificial greenery - not awful, but not particularly unique either... you could pick something similar up at any dollar store; a resin bowl with wooden top - the most useful item in the box, I can use this to serve dinner rolls or salad; a wooden frame with "inspirational" saying - but the frame was plain and not very good quality and the saying was pretty meh; and a "repurposed photo stand" made from a porch banister from the curators' house/office - this was the weirdest item of all... It's literally just a cut up piece of porch railing with a slit cut in...
UPDATE---I did receive an email after I posted my review and some candles were sent to my sister. However, I replied twice to their email correspondence and have yet to receive a reply. They are not very communicative and I probably will not shop with them again. its a great gift idea, just not the right company.
I purchased this box as a gift for my sister. We are both craft and decorator fanatics so I thought this would be something unique and fun to give. I could not wait for her box to arrive. To my disappointment, the box was not packaged well and the big plate was split right down the middle. In addition, there wasn't any cute little paper explaining what each item was. I've received crates similar to this from other companies and they always include descriptions of the items, along with manufacturer and possible uses. So I was left trying to help her figure out a few of the items that were not so self explanatory. We finally found our way to the website where we were able to figure it out.
In the meantime, I had to send 2 emails to Root and Roam - 1 directly and 1 through cratejoy to get my broken item resolved. They did respond and say that they were sorry and would send a new plate, along with some extra goodies for our troubles. Also I could...
The wreath in December had glitter all over that dropped everywhere. Cheaply made. I haven’t found any items in three months that so liked or could actually use
I'm pretty disappoint in the box that I received. I could go to a dollar store and get similar stuff. Not happy nor impressed paired way to much money for this.
My November box was beyond expectation! The value was far beyond what I paid and I can use every item!
I love Root & Roam. The boxes are thoughtfully curated and I love being able to add little accent pieces throughout my home.
I have Ben a member since the very first box and I have not been disappointed! Every month is like Christmas and I can’t wait for my next box. I highly recommend this subscription and also think it would be a great gift because all of the items are wonderful. If one item isn’t quite your style, (haven’t had one yet but it might happen) then you have a perfect gift for a friend! Such fun.
This might be one of my favorite subscription boxes I have found so far! Between amazing home goods, great customer service, and a nice personal touch to every months box this is becoming my go to gift option for friends and family! Keep it up!
I love how the items have been hand selected and thoughtfully curated. I’ve had so much fun finding new ways to repurpose each piece.
I have absolutely loved everything in all of my boxes. Beautiful packaging, nice theme work, very creative and well thought out. I get excited every month when my box is on the way and it looks like next month is going to be fabulous!
