While the plant was in great shape and the ceramic planter is nice, I am mildly disappointed that it is a generic houseplant I can find in mass quantity at any home and garden center in multiple colors. I was hoping this subscription would include lesser known or more unusual houseplants. Will gladly give it a couple more months, hopefully this was the only dud. I recieved the single yellow, other pic is at the local garden center.
Thanks for your review, Jenn! We listen closely to all feedback and appreciate you letting us know about your experience. We hope to wow you with new plants in the future! Happy Planting!
All Very Nice
I'm pretty pleased with my box and am definitely looking forward to next month. The plant did well in shipping except for some mild damage to 2 fronds, packing was thoughtful and cute, and I love the decorative pot. However, the plant I received was a staghorn fern, planted in soil and, as mentioned, accompanied by a decorative pot, as well as extra soil and a macrame hanger. All fine and good, except that a quick Google search of staghorn ferns will tell you that these plants don't grow in soil in the wild and aren't usually grown in soil as houseplants. They do best when mounted vertically, which also changes the care they receive as far as watering (unless you want to get water all over your wall and floor). I'm actually fine with taking on this project, but I feel weird about the fact that we received a plant that is not in its ideal growing medium with nothing in the care instructions about mounting the plant, so I don't feel like I got an accurate account of the type or amount of care the plant requires. All that said, this was still overall a positive experience and I can't wait to see what comes next month.
I think the shipping did a little damage but not much. I was surprised by the plant I got I’d never seen it before. It was very neat. I hope my next one is something colorful.
