Thanks for your question! It's difficult to customize the boxes each month as we're just a small team of 2. We do try to include 2-3 nice tins each month. Octopus is not something we ship often and is usually considered a bonus tin. That said, if we do have a box throughout the year that includes octopus, we can try our best to find a substitute for you. If we ship an octopus tin by mistake, just let us know, and we'll include an extra bonus tin the next month for you. Thanks again for your support!

Yes! We include a few specialty condiments like tiny jars of mayo and/or tabasco, seasoning packets and some crackers. Each box comes with a letter where we recommend a few recipes and different ways to enjoy these delicious tins.
Excellent fish options with unique accoutrements (sambal oelek, yuzu, etc.) that enable great combinations. Excited to try other types of fishes in future boxes. Provided recipe sheet was very useful! Thanks!

I love seafood. So far so good with the first box, and can't wait for the second box! I think my biggest issue will be tracking down a way to get more of my favorites when I get something I like in the package lol.

This was a great selection for me. I had the seasoned and baked mackerel with some of the provided crackers and some chedder of my own. I preferred it with the also provided chili garlic sauce. It was a tasty contrast to the surprisingly sweet mackerel.
The garlicky octopus was a first for me and it was fantastic. I put it on a plate and added a few drops of the Tabasco (provided) and some lime. I had some rice noodle ramen along with it and it made a great combo.
I haven't had the Canadian smoked sardines yet but I do love sardines and am going to try several of the recipes using the condiments sent with the ample tin.

In our first box, we included three different tins. The seasoned and broiled Saury from Japan is delicious on its own. This one you can eat without any additions or drain and add a little ponzu sauce. Next up are Turkish Spicy Sardines. We suggested making a “tuna” melt sandwich and included a special recipe. Last, the Smoked Sprats Pate from Latvia is a versatile spread that can be seasoned based on your preferences and enjoyed on a fancy cracker.

We're very excited about this box going out to our monthly subscribers for November. We're recommending a fancy sardine dip with pretzels, delicious spicy calamari lo mein, and a special spiced mackerel Nuri that should probably be eaten by itself on a hill watching the sunset :)
