This was our first month. We purchased it for my son. He loved it and the recipe was a hit. But for the price, I think the box should include all items needed (minus refrigerated items) such as muffin liners and oils.
Was supposed to come well before Christmas as a gift. Was ordered weeks before. Showed up 4 days after Christmas. Not thrilled with this experience.
This was a subscription that my sisters and I purchased for my dad who has been interested in baking since the start of the pandemic. We chose the nut free one because he does not like nuts in his desserts. While the directions were simple to follow, the variety of desserts could have been expanded. For example, my dad doesn't care for Oreo cookies and it was an ingredient in at least two of the boxes he received. Cookies seemed to be a general theme for the curated desserts, most likely due in part to it being a seemingly fool-proof option for beginning bakers. I think it would be helpful to expand the challenges so that the boxes become more advanced as the baker continues receiving his or her boxes.
Overall, this was a fun box for my dad to receive each month.
Way too many variations on brownies and repeat boxes showing up after just a couple of months. On the positive side, very simple recipes for young and inexperienced bakers.
I decided to try it out for a month to see if it was worth a subscription. I got ingredients for "double chocolate cookies." The cookies were tasty, but pretty basic. My wife said that maybe the box was meant for really amateur bakers, but aside from maybe the cocoa powder and/or pink salt, it seems like the ingredients were just things that anyone with an oven would have in their pantry. I'm not even sure what the "double" aspect of the chocolate was supposed to be, since the only chocolate was cocoa powder. I ended up adding some chocolate chunks to about half the cookies. Over all it was... fine? It was fine, just probably best for someone else. I was hoping for something a little more out of the box (pun not really intended, but it's a good pun so I'll let it ride).
