Not sure how a 4 year old would do but our 8 year old loved helping out. Even if it was just writing out clues, hints, words or reading the clue he felt very much apart of the adventure and fun!
My kids are 8 and 9 and enjoy doing them. 4 might be tough, but they might like playing with the toys that come in the box! There are some simple puzzles, but most might be too mudh for him/her.

In the introduction letter, it says to visit a website. That website is the start of her adventure. Please note that she will need the Internet to get clues and to solve the mystery.
Zayani is right. When you log into the internet websites it guides you from one part of the puzzle to the next.
If your mom is on Facebook, she should join the Finders Seekers user group. It’s a great place to go for a hint from other players when you get stuck on a clue.

My wife and I have been doing a few of these now and we really enjoy it. All of them that we have finished so far have had some really cool clues. My one critique is the fact that sometimes you have to google things for answers and sometimes the answers can be found in the game. While I understand the purpose behind this, I often find myself not wanting to use the internet at all for fear that I am cheating or just getting help. It would be better to indicate when internet help is needed and not to let us know so that we don't go using the help of the internet when it isn't needed. All in all they have been really fun and worth the cost.

Our family loves National Parks! We bought 3 of the National Park boxes and played virtually. It was honestly more fun to play together virtually than hover over one box had we been together. We all worked together, until we realized we could compete to get the puzzles done first and then it got competitive ☺️. We finished the box in 1.5 hours (but our family is really good at puzzles). What a great time! The puzzles, pictures... everything was extremely well done. Highly recommend!
