Q: what is the difference between the sibling box and the teachers box? i homeschool my children and i was wondering which to get.Asked by Stayce M., June 2020
Great question! Either box could be adapted for homeschooling, so it is
based on your preferences of what you are looking for. If you have more
than 4 kids, I would suggest considering the teacher box. For 2-4 kids,
consider that the main differences to expect are: 1.) the teacher box will
typically be more heavy on curriculum/lesson plans and the parent box will
typically be more heavy on activity materials; and 2.) the sibling pack
will give you one of each art item (posters, stickers, magnets, etc.) for
each child, whereas in the teacher box, there would only be one of those
types of items. Often with the teacher pack, we assume you'll have more
supplies to work with (e.g. crayons and other simple school supplies)
whereas in the parent/sibling box, everything you need...
Q: Is it possible to order the sibling pack but for children in two different age categories? I've got one in the K-2nd range, and one in the 3rd-5th range.Asked by Tiffany S., June 2020
Unfortunately at this time we aren't able to offer the sibling pack with
two different age levels. We recommend that you choose the age level that
will work best for all of your kids based on their reading levels. The main
difference between the K-2nd and 3rd-5th grade boxes is the book that is
included. The K-2nd box always has a picture book, whereas the 3rd-5th
grade box will sometimes have a chapter book. Otherwise, much of the
content is similar and can be adapted for older or younger kids!
My kids and I look forward to this every month! Each theme is thoughtfully chosen and mindfully explained. Kids feel real empowerment and part of a solution, rather than sad or overwhelmed by complex issues. Trans rights, consent, equal opportunity, school segregation, taking care of our planet, and feminism are some of the themed boxes we have received. What I like the most is that there is a ton of support in the info cards and the readings and activities don’t “talk down” to kids. This one gives me hope for the future. ❤️
