Q: I don't understand this. I thought that the postcard was going to be the record. I got 3 pieces a postcard, the record, and a picture. how am I supposed to mail this to my daughter as a postcard?Asked by Mary D., June 2020
in the photo it looks like the postcard and the record are one item. you put the postcard on the record player. This is not the case. I understand that I'm going to have to mail it to her but how do I do that with 3 pieces? Can't be mailed as a postcard.
The postcards are more of a novelty to have a personal handwritten message from the artist that is being featured that month. I believe if you want your daughter to receive these you'll need to change the address on Cratejoy.
I don't have an answer for this question, but I was confused too. Maybe you have to mail the record itself? What looks like an actual postcard isn't good for mailing because the writing it so big. Maybe the postcard isn't actually meant to be mailed to someone??
This was such a fun gift and great idea but the packaging isn’t great which means the majority of the postcards arrive too bent to actually play. Would consider trying again if packaging was improved.
Thanks for trying it out, Annmarie! We've since updated the format of our vinyl postcards to a thin plastic / flexible sheet that ships much better than the previous cardstock format.
After having a problem with my initial shipment, VINYL POST has demonstrated to have some of the best customer service, far surpassing those of other subscription services (coughlootfreightcough). 11 stars.
I got this for a friend and she loves it.
These have been wonderful. I don't have a record player myself but I've been sending them to friends during covid as a nice way to brighten their day and they've loved it. Very cute and creative.
This is a really fun subscription for anyone who loves vinyl, postcards, or music in general! Some record players are finicky about playing things that don’t fit within the 7”/12” dichotomy, that’s my only warning! It’s fun learning new artists and having cool novelty copies of their songs!
I like the idea, but unfortunately my player doesn't allow for the whole song to play. And the postcards are kind of thin, so the sound quality isn't the best. I also haven't really cared for the songs so far. It's a cool concept, but I'm a little underwhelmed.
This was such a fun gift for my daughter(graphic designer) and new son-in-"love" for their first 6 months married, just a little fun and thinking of you both item. When we got the address wrong, the gentleman quickly fixed graciously sending out new shipments (2)! Great communication. great for any vinyl fan!! Cool packaging and product!
If all of their playable vinyl postcards are like this first one, this is the best crate ever. New bands who appreciate any support they get. Hand written notes on the back. I plan to go back and get the vinyl I missed. You also get a download of the song if that's your thing. Can't miss, especially at this price.
This is a very cool box with a good selection, great way to find new music. Christmas shipping was crazy slow but that's on the post office, Josh did his very best to make things right for us. Thank you for great customer service! My one complaint is our new Victrola won't play the entire record. The record is so small the arm bounces back midway through the song. But we heard enough to know we liked it and will look up the artist.
My husband is a music buff and loved these!!! Such a great deal and a great way to hear new music. I had to put a pause on my subscription because we will be traveling for summer but will definitely be resuming when we are back in town!
OZWALD is the indie side project of lead singer and guitarist Jason Wade and Steve Stout of the band Lifehouse. Jay and Steve started the project over a bond of the Beatles and Indie music, writing/producing songs where they both sang together in a new project with no rules. With the goal of releasing 2 full-length LP's a year, the duo has produced/written and released 5 records since 2019. The latest LP 'young suburban minds' was made in Nashville at their...
Hailing from north east England, self-described "lo-fi pop noodler" Trunky Juno's influences range from Flaming Lips through to Father John Misty and his irreverent lyricism covers subjects as diverse as Patrick Swayze, defunct game shows of yesteryear, and controversial pizza toppings. Beneath the eye-catching titles and irresistible hooks, however, lies an ability to tell relatable stories in unique ways, often with a focus on emotionally intangible feelings...
Audio Book Club, an Oklahoma City based 5 piece, came together in 2018 after playing shows together in various bands over the years. Their two released EPs What if We Got Buff? and Houston, I am a Problem were written in two back-to-back, whirlwind sessions. The lyrics and production are heavily inspired by reality and scripted television (specifically The Bachelor, if you really want to know), film, historical events--anything about the screwed up American dream.
Madrid/London-based photographer and songwriter Rothrigo attempts to redefine classic rock in the contemporary DIY musical landscape. His music is still true to the pop standards of the 60s and 70s, while still bringing in a fresh, sunny and cheerful charm. The whole album 'Apple Juice' explores the experience of growing up in the eyes of 21-year old Rothrigo. 'Train Tracks' is an upbeat and child-like 70s homage to letting someone else break your heart over and over.
Legwurk is the indie-pop project of Tani Tietz, from Vancouver, B.C. Tani, who normally tours as part of the band, ‘Still Woozy’, started the project during the pandemic when touring came to an abrupt end. Her songs focus on gender, love, and mental health. ‘Dusty’ is part of her debut EP, titled “I Have A Bad Memory”, which was just released this April.
Sweet and Lonely is the project of Minneapolis artist Nick Elstad. Inspired equally by lofi, hip hop, indie, and pop, the project started as a way to try out new styles of writing and producing. Each of the singles that Nick has put out so far have all had their own sound and style, but "Best Years" became an Aha! moment. Daydreams of youth and long nights with friends have all become an overarching theme for Sweet and Lonely. The process of making this song was like an
chemical club is an indie project started by two friends who grew up in the same area and went to the same schools. We started playing in a band together and there we discovered we had writing chemistry. We branched off as a duo to form chemical club for fun. We're currently finishing our upcoming EP, recorded in a lakefront cabin while listening to U2 and watching My Octopus Teacher.
Josh Fudge is an 18 year old artist from Oklahoma City. Finding music at the age of 4, he quickly fell in love and began to improvise for hours a day, a practice that eventually turned into songwriting. Beginning to release music on Spotify in early 2020, his tunes were featured on Spotify's Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds: Indie, Study Break, and lofi indie playlists, with additional features on BIRP.fm, Indie Shuffle, GRUNGECAKE, and more.
Pops Tuna is an independent solo artist from Philadelphia. His debut album “Lame Fiction” was released in June of 2020. It is about a 4 year relationship and the self discovery that follows after a breakup. Written and recorded completely in his childhood bedroom it was simply a passion project at first. However, after completing the album and showing it to members of his band he was compelled to release it under the name Pops Tuna.
Ginger Root is the Bedroom Pop project of Cameron Lew. The act has won over fans with intimate and vulnerable songs accompanied by catchy well produced music that borrows from the sounds of 70's American Disco and Japanese City Pop to create something that is altogether new. Every aspect of the project comes from the brain of Lew who delivers songwriting, production, and mixing to the music along with the directing and editing of music videos courtesy of his degree in fi
Jaguar Sun is a solo project created by multi instrumentalist Chris Minielly. Weaving together inspiration from bands such as STRFKR, Youth Lagoon, and Panda Bear, Minielly creates dreamy, pop centric soundscapes with experimental flair. The Ontario based artist allows his instruments to speak equally to his voice urging listeners to get lost in richly layered guitar lines and deep droning synths.
Husbands is a band that has been apart as much as it has been together. Danny and Wil got their start in OKC, releasing 23 home-recorded lofi beach pop singles in one year. Wil moved to work on a grad degree in Washington, DC and Danny worked as a computer engineer in Oklahoma City. In 2015, they released their first LP, Golden Year; a sunny, reverb-drenched collection of beach punk accompanied by Brian Wilson-esque melodies.
