Missing items in last 2 boxes. No response from Paletteful.
Sorry for the late response. Messages coming through Cratejoy rather than sent directly are getting filtered. We sent out the missing item today. Sorry we didn't live up to expectations. Every now and then one of our team makes an error and misses an item. We'll work to improve.
I have been a fan since the first box, but I will try to make the most balanced review possible for those who are still undecided.
The good........first thing is that this IS a great company. The boxes go out on time, they are thoughtfully put together ( both selection of items and presentation), they are securely wrapped, and if you ever have an issue- they are super fast in getting back to you. I had a question, was rather short with the rep and could guess what a pain I was being, and SURPRISE......that rep never showed any frustration, was patient beyond expectation, and answered all my questions in a very professional manner. Have no fear!!!😀
The boxes have a few really nice "pros" you should consider...
They always include the appropriate craft surfaces so you never need to worry about what to do with your items. Even in boxes that had canvases, paper pads were included-- I am NOT saying that they will do this every time, but they seem to pay close attention to that issue. I have not had to buy any pads since I joined.
The boxes are varied-both in items and subject matter. You will get a different medium each time and almost every time you get different types of that medium. So if you get a box with watercolors, you may get a set of watercolor pencils that also includes a few pans of specialty watercolor or a few watercolor brush markers.
I love art subscription boxes and I've tried a few now. I like that Paletteful offers a range of box sizes and prices, and the best part is getting a ground of some kind to test media on. Only wish the info sheet included a price breakdown, but otherwise it's been a keen little box.
got this art subscription box as a gift and I love it.
This box is decent (I’ve received 2 so far) bc each box does come with a range of tools for one visual art project per month. I think it’s just a bit much for myself as a hobbyist and bc I do my own supply shopping. Would be good for a young person or an older person.
I got a card in the post this morning saying that i have to pay a customs fee of £15.66, isn't this included in the delivery costs? I will not be able to receive my box until it gets paid. i would of contacted the seller directly but that option wasn't allowing me to send the message.
Hi Lauren, per our FAQ, If you are an international customer, any international order may incur a customs fee. We wish that this wasn't the case, but we also need to follow the rules for your respective country and fill out all customs forms properly. Any collection of customs fees goes to your government, not Paletteful Packs. Since we have no control over the customs authorities in your country, and fees vary from country to country, we recommend contacting your local customs office for more information about customs fees, duties, and taxes, and how to avoid them. Most countries allow up to a certain value of goods into the country without any additional duties and taxes.
Pens were great but not a fan of black paper so I don't know what to do with notebook. But all in all pretty worth the price.
I ordered the Premier Pack and received four 5ml tubes of watercolor paint, a foldable paint palette, 2 brushes and 2 small canvases(I think they were both supposed to be canvases anyways- they look more like strange cardboard).
I was under the impression that the Premier Pack had more/ bigger items.
Hi Brittany, We are sorry you were unhappy with the first Premier Pack. It sounds like there may be a little confusion regarding the box contents. The boards you received are not cardboard. One of the boards you received was a Strathmore 500 series mixed media board (professional quality, internally sized sheets with a durable vellum finish are mounted to both sides of a high-quality whiteboard). The other board is an illustration board that was hand brushed with QOR watercolor ground, a ground that can be painted on a variety of surfaces so that it can accept watercolor. The QOR watercolors are very high-end professional watercolors. Watercolor tubes are small because watercolor goes farther than a paint like acrylic and are always sold as a...
WOW! This is only my second box and I am so impressed. This was chock FULL of wonderful products. I'm so excited to make use of the black sketch paper, metallic colored pencils and ALL of the wonderful pens and pencils.
So far I just got a one time box and I was VERY impressed. It had everything one would need to create an entire piece. I am going to subscribe month to month on this one. It's a "keeper"
Love my monthly kit. However, I have so may art supplies that I am now sending this to my very creative granddaughter!
We were expecting a fun artsy pack as shown, instead received a set of caligraphy markers and a small notebook. Both were fine but could have been purchased locally for about $12, so this package is not worth the cost for us.
I think I may have already left a review, but I'm so happy with the service I'm leaving another to make sure I have at least one on here. I've received 2 boxes now. I was doing the petite pack, which was really nice, but I only got 2 colors of the gouache and really wanted more so I upgraded to the regular pack for next month. I've watched unboxing videos and I think it'll leave me with more of the colors and such that get sent. So far, I'm very happy.
I received my first green palletteful pack promptly at the beginning of May. I love it!, every last item. One of my favorite things is that they give you a menu of all the items in the pack and current retail prices on the contents. I was so disappointed with my subscription to the purple box contents and their customer service, that I was going to forgo box subscriptions all together. I just happened to come across paletteful and I figured it was worth a try. I'm so happy that I gave this company a whirl. My last purple box items retailed for about $20.00 I payed $45 for it. Not a happy camper but my paletteful pack put a big smile on my face. If you're on the fence about this just give them a try, GREEN just might become your new favorite color
I really like the box. Even if I don't use all the contents right away, at least I know I have them. My issue is that the June box was sent out on May 31/18 and I still have not received it. It's not giving me much time to review the box contents before payment is taken for the next one.
It looks like this box ironically arrived the day of this review. Unfortunately, international orders can take longer to ship and get processed through local customs. We understand the feedback though that as an international customer, you do not have much time between receiving the box and renewal on the 15th. We'll reach out to you directly to see if we can find a solution.
One thing I do want to add though is I keep getting charged an extra fee when I pick up the box from the post office and I'm unsure why...it's never been on it before but the last three I'm having to pay an extra 15.00 to the post office, just so I can pick it up,again unsure why but want to let anyone who is interested know(I live in Canada)
Customs duties and import taxes are applied by most countries above certain thresholds. In Canada, they will apply their national Goods and Services Tax (GST) on any item that's worth more than $20 Canadian (~$15 USD). In addition, some provinces apply an additional tax called HST... and we've also seen them apply "handling" fees. In general, foreign customs departments may sometimes let big batches of shipments go through unchecked, and then stop other batches of shipments randomly... so sometimes it's just luck whether your customers get charged for the import duties they owe or not. Sorry, there isn't much we can do here to remove this cost.
I get the "palletfull pack" (the adult box) and it has been beyond amazing, something different every month and worth every penny..they also provide instructions on what certain things are for or how to do a project with the items, which I love..whether your a beginner or you've been doing projects for awhile, this box provides it all...I absolutely love it
I was gifted with 3 months of Paletteful Packs for Christmas by my son and daughter in love. What a wonderful surprise each month to open these great boxes full of art supplies. Every month carried its own theme featuring Acrylic Paints, Oil Pastels and Markers. They all came with everything needed to explore and create art pieces as soon as the box was opened. I love every one of them! Cratejoy has so many boxes to discover - give them a try!
I subscribed to this box for my daughter and she absolutely loves it! Comes with quality supplies even for the young artist box! I cancelled my subscription to another art box so I can subscribe to the adult box!
The description said you'll get 6+ items but in this box I only got 5. The items are good at best not superior quality items. But they were good enough to use for a small painting. Overall for 33+ dollars I am not very happy but I'm content.
We are sorry that you weren't completely happy with the box. There may be some confusion regarding the advertised item count as some items came in sets. This box had five items ($56 value, plus free shipping) which included 5 tubes of paint, 5 brushes, a mixed media pad, and two other accessories. We will reach out to you to make sure you aren't missing any of these items.
I was searching for a subscription box geared towards art and creativity and boy oh boy was I delighted when I finally happened uppn Paletteful Packs ☺ The March box is my first so far, but based on what I've seen with previous boxes on YouTube I'm excited for what's to come. I like that they've designed their product to be for anyone; you don't have to be an 'Artist' to create and challenge yourself :) We all have a voice. Thank you PP for helping me (IG: @Ydoj876) wake up my creative side!
I was afraid I would get things I already have-I have a lot of art supplies-but I didn’t! I know I won’t get that lucky every time probably, but an very happy with everything. I got a Montana Marker which I have but I got a white one which I don’t have. I got 3 Touch markers & blending pen-I’ve never heard of (I have almost every color Copic) so am anxious to try-a Sakura Micro Pen which is always useful & a Bee Artist Marker Paper pad. So all very awesome.
It's been many years since I've worked on any sort of art project. I wanted to delve back in and wasn't sure where to start. This is perfect!
My niece loves the art supplies that she receives every month, sometimes when she doesn’t know what to do with them, she has more fun learning and exploring new techniques.
I had misunderstood the shipping for this box and contacted them. They were super nice and got right back to me. They also shipped me out a box right of way with a couple extra things. Not many places do that. My neice LOVED this, though, she was a bit young. I may end up resuming this later once she's a little older. Overall wonderful box and would highly recommend to anyone!
