Behind the Box: Box on the Rocks

As food and beverage marketers with twenty years of experience, Kim and her cofounder Celia knew in March 2020 that they would have to get creative. “[O]ur restaurant clients needed carryout solutions to help keep their businesses alive,” Kim explains. So the team came up with “a series of cocktail kits that could be sold out of a restaurant along with a bottle of booze.”

Unsurprisingly, the kits were a hit. And that meant opportunity. Luckily, as longtime marketers, Kim and her team had contacts throughout the industry that could help as they conducted market research, ran focus groups, and sourced premium products for ingredients and barware. “We want our recipients to have fun, learn a bit, and feel empowered by the fact that they too can make a classic cocktail with a bit of spin,” Kim says, “just like their neighborhood bartenders––maybe even better.”

Each Box on the Rocks features a classic with a twist, plus an innovative second drink and a mocktail to boot. Plus, every month delivers a bonus bar tool to build your collection––and no two months are alike.
