The Cactique

Kim and Rick Louie created The Cactique’s Cactus and Succulent Boutique and The Boutique Box monthly subscription box through hard work, burning passion, and dedicated cultivation to spread the happiness that comes from these diverse, delightful, and low-maintenance plants.

We believe that plants make us happy—and science proves that plants make people feel better! We've found that especially in the COVID-19 age, nurturing another living thing and connecting with nature greatly contributes to our well-being. After all, our cacti and succulents always manage to plant (no pun) smiles on our faces every day when we see their resiliency, how forgiving they are, their willingness to survive and thrive, and of course, how beautiful they are—even under not-so-great circumstances.

We are a licensed California nursery. Our cacti and succulents are grown in San Jacinto, California at the foothills of the San Jacinto Mountains in a clear valley surrounded by hot springs (about 40 minutes from Palm Springs). We search high and low to find quality pottery, metal, and wood containers. For top dressings, we use several types of rocks from our local SoCal rockeries, reindeer moss, sphagnum moss, and Spanish moss.
The Cactique has been delivering happiness since August 2020 and is delighted to see their succie babes bring joy to plant parents around the US.
