Misty Isle Gin
70cl
Abv. 41.5% vol.
Misty Isle Gin has been a long time in the making. It’s become something of a passion. From the Wilson family home in Portree on the Isle of Skye, Isle of Skye Distillers have created a spirit which they are proud to call their own. Distilling this beautiful craft gin anywhere else but on Skye was never in question. Provenance was everything. Over time, they have perfected their recipe; a marriage of crystal clear spring waters from the Storr Lochs and the right balance of the finest botanicals. It has taken patience and judgement, but some things cannot be rushed.
The juniper berries are hand foraged from various wild locations around Skye. The Juniper is then slowly distilled in traditional gas fired copper pot stills for approximately 8 hours, then vapour infused with the botanicals. They use 11 botanicals in total including; Juniper, coriander, grains of paradise, orris root, liquorice root, black cubebs, lemon peel, cassia bark to name some and one which is top secret and only comes from the Isle of Skye. This results in the gin being Juniper heavy but not too floral with earthy undertones and a hint of spice, subtle flavours of citrus with a refreshing after taste.
Proud of their unique bottle, label and branding designs, the bottle shape represents the elements on the Isle of Skye, our mountainous landscape and turbulent seas. The label design is an accurate representation of the Cuillin Mountains and has multiple finishes including a copper foiling that is a nod to their copper gin stills. Each bottle is batch numbered and signed by either Alistair or Thomas Wilson.
