You asked us for a special event and we found just the right thing, a Blind Date with a Book Box. We didn’t stop there though, we know that one of the main reasons you come to Nerdy is because of the high-quality items we provide and our dedication to small businesses so we have worked that into this box.
Our new Blind Date with a Book Box will be themed around Earth day so we are teaming up with a fabulous family-owned, woman-run bookshop called R&B Used Books. Once you have placed your order, you will be directed to a quick set of questions we need answered. Please have your order number handy (this will be on your e-mailed receipt). Based upon your responses to the questionnaire a used book will be chosen from the shop especially for you and paired with the goodies we have found from other small businesses and a few things from some of our amazing Indie authors. This box retails for $30 including shipping so please make sure you get your orders in quickly, we expect this will sell quickly!
Each box will include:
• 1 used book chosen just for you
• 1 handmade item
• 1 sweet treat from a local bakery
• 1 Earth Day Bookmark (Designed by @nerdybookmama)
• 4-5 items from Indie authors and/or the bookstore
R&B Used books is located in Grand Blanc Michigan. While the shop has always worked to help people find the books they need, it also reaches further. It is a permanent donation location for FISH of Grand Blanc, a non-profit organization that helps families in need in the area and the Pixel and Luna Resource Network which assists local animal rescues. The store rescues and donates books that would have been destroyed to locations in need and has sponsored programs to send soldiers books. As an inclusive and safe space, R&B Used books welcomes all people to join them for author events, book clubs, craft supply exchanges with FlintHandmade or just to spend time outside of your home having fun. In a recent interview Beth, the owner, even stated that once her bills are paid every cent the shop makes goes back out into the community. Every box sale will help them to continue to support these amazing causes and to help make even more dreams come true.
