Q: Can the costumer chose the box what he want? Or it's random? I'd like to buy a box at bokksu but I want to chose what kind of box that I want.Asked by Light S., June 2020
We thoughtfully curate each month's box around Japanese seasons, regions, or cultural themes to bring the best snacking experience at that moment to you, so unfortunately at this time there is no way to allow customers to select which box they will be receiving in their subscription. However, on our direct website you can sometimes purchase Past Boxes in our Bokksu Market where we offer our bestselling products a la carte on demand.
Q: Does the guide come with nutritional information. Will give the ones that have gluten to others lolAsked by Brittany C., March 2020
We list out all the common allergens of each snack and if it's vegetarian or not, so for checking to see if there's gluten or not, you can simply look to see if "wheat" is listed as a common allergen. If it doesn't list it, then you're safe to enjoy that snack :)
Q: Is team's a regular part of this box? I'm looking for a box that has more variety and more tea and drinks. Tokyo treat was great but I would really rather have more teas than just candyAsked by Shyashton C., June 2019
We curate a tea pairing to complement that month's snack curation every single month :)
I got a sample box for Bokksu, and it was excellent. My housemate went through and MC'd as he and passed around each item. He says 4/5 stars because some of the packaging was hard to open. The rest of us can just say 5/5.
The snacks were all good, and there was a good deal of variety. It was surprising how much fit in the box, and there were two packs of most items, so there was plenty to go around and share with friends. It comes with a booklet that describes each item (including allergens and whether it's vegetarian). It's all incredibly well done, and a was huge success.
The only caveat is that if you're vegetarian or vegan, this probably isn't the box for you. As you'd expect, Japanese people use a lot of seafood in their snacks. For anyone else, I highly recommend it.
I got my first box this week, and I love it! I kind of wish I'd gotten the bigger box now that I've seen what's in it. The snacks are very tasty and having the booklet is very informative and helpful.
Great snacks! Way more than I thought I would get for the price 💕
I love Bokksu! It's so fun to get these tasty snacks and treats each month. I just wish it arrived sooner. It took 6 weeks just to arrive and it was a lot smaller than I expected, but it was still delicious and I'm happy with the purchase.
Arrived really fast! (to Netherlands). I love the curation of the products. The best part is the booklet that tells you a lot of information about each product and its origins. Bokksu feels like it has genuine care and consideration behind it. Can't wait for the next one!
This box is such a treat! I really enjoy reading information about the different products included in the box. I've eaten several of the items and have not been disappointed! The treats are yummy and make me want to visit Japan!
I love the curation in the box! I especially love the meanings behind each and every snack. This box was super fun to try with my boyfriend and taste everything and make a list of the things we really loved. If you are at all interested in the food culture in Japan, (including the cultivation of certain ingredients found in these snacks), this box is for you! Super high quality and incredible. I highly recommend it. (Side note I ordered the tasting box and it was still super packed with snacks!)
I ordered my first three boxes right when the whole pandemic thing hit the fan, so I didn't get my boxes for a long time (not Bokku's fault of course) so my shipping score reflects that. There was an issue where my April box never got shipped out so they sent me two May boxes instead, I appreciate them replacing the April box and their customer support was very good.
As for the box itself, I have only received the two May boxes as of writing this review (waiting on June), but I am very happy with the contents of that box. Also the physical box is so cute and perfect for storing my art supplies, so a bonus. I'll be resubscribing in a few months when the shipping is less wonky.
Love this so much! The selections are awesome, I think I liked EVERYTHING in my box. Great curation!!
Highly recommend. Beautifully arranged boxes complete with a variety of different tasty snacks each month. Although each month has a theme, the flavors are quite varied. The description pamphlet explains what each food is and the region it comes from.

We've curated snacks from across Kanagawa to give you a real taste of its confectionary culture. And since this is a celebratory box after all, we've filled it with snacks in red and gold (lucky colors in Japan) to bring you festive feelings and good fortune.
