Q: Does it come with a lesson plan to work with the kids?Asked by Gledia M., January 2023
Hi,
Great question! The Sensory Bins come with instructions for use, plus ideas for extending the learning (ideas for other toys to add to the bin, projects to do that relate to the theme, or conversations to have and vocabulary words to introduce, etc). So it’s not a specific lesson plan but there are ideas you could turn into complementary learning!
Q: Does the box come with the plastic storage bins shown in the pictures?Asked by Terayle B., October 2021
It does not. You get everything else in the photo, and can use a similar sized container (14x11x5”) or another sort of box or container (baking tray, mixing bowl, cardboard box, storage tub, etc). The exact plastic bins shown in the photos are the “men’s shoe box” from The Container Store.
My son loves this subscription! When we got out first box he was so excited to start playing. I ordered this based on the suggestion from someone that he might be acting out because he was sensory seeking. I honestly never thought of the connection, but he seems to not be hitting as much. He plays with it almost daily, and it’s actually kind of fun. He’ll sit in my lap and stick his feet in it, he’ll use the tweezers or get a measuring cup/spoon to scoop out the little treasures, he’ll pour it and runs his hands through it. We have the alphabet box and so we’ll discuss the letters and the sounds they make or he’ll pick up a pom pom and we’ll talk about the colors of them and what two colors make another color. I’m looking forward to seeing what the next box holds!
Explore our solar system with this adorable and fun hands-on sensory bin! Black, magenta and turquoise colored rice make the perfect galactic base with cute aliens, felt planets, stars and a sun. The tweezers and tongs are great for building fine motor control!
Bury the dinosaurs and fossils in the cornmeal base, and dig them out carefully! Use the paintbrush to carefully remove all cornmeal "sand" from the dinosaur fossils, just like when archeologists uncover real fossils. The magnifying glass really works too, and cornmeal is easy to make dinosaur imprints in! This Sensory Bin is a huge hit with any dino-lovers and is so much fun.

The all-time favorite sensory bin! Kids love the colorful waterbeads, and the coral reef creatures lead to lots of fun pretend play too. Waterbeads are reusable and biodegradable, and the box includes 3 sets of them too! Hours and hours of sensory play.
Dig through the brown rice "dirt" to plant the colorful garbanzo bean "seeds!" Make sure you rake the soil first and mark the seed rows with the color-corresponding stick. The seeds even come in color-coded seed envelopes, like real seeds! There are so many real-life skills to practice and build upon in this popular Sensory Bin!
Lentils are one of the most satisfying sensory bin fillers we've ever played with! Smooth, soft, and silky- not to mention the lovely rain sound they make as you swish them around. This bin is filled with magnetic and non-magnetic items. Can you little preschooler identify which items the magnet will collect? And why do they "stick" on? How many items can the magnet hold at once?
The newly-redesigned Arctic Sensory Bin is better than ever! It comes with instant snow, arctic creatures, snowflakes, and a shovel and net. You can make and explore your very own snowy world! Instant snow is a blast to play with, and we use the highest quality product. It comes portioned in 3 bags, so you can make multiple smaller batches or one HUGE batch! It can be dried and reused, played with inside or out, is nontoxic (of course) and feels just like real snow.
This all new sensory bin is going to be a huge hit with all those transportation-lovers out there! The base of colored pasta noodles is so satisfying, both to feel and hear, and the bright colors of the accessories really pop! Glow in the dark stars and bouncy balls, astronauts, rockets, and glitter pompoms! What's not to love in this out-of-the-world sensory bin? The black garbanzo bean filler is chunky and easy to pick up, building fine motor control and hand-eye coordination. The tweezers and shovel are other great tools for building crucial those skills too.
Bright purple waterbeads and play dough are the perfect setting for creating your own monster!
