Order by February 27th to get this box!
Q: The description says "choose your own adventure." Does this mean you can you replay the game with a different ending depending on choices made during the game?Asked by Cecily M., October 2019
Within our current boxes to this point, the choose your own adventure parts
will only change some of the story outcomes, and which puzzles you may
play. It does not make the complete game re-playable. We are looking to add
more elements like this to eventually get games to a point where you may be
able to play it more than once.
Cecily! This was such an amazing feature to this box! In my experience the choices I got to make really shaped the narrative of the unique story that was told through my decisions. I’m not too sure if it changes the path of puzzles but my and team and I actually sat around discussing the pros and cons of each decision before making it was so much fun!
Q: You said this is box is like a Escape room game. Do you put a time limit on when is to be completed? Also, can one person complete the game) Thank you, KathyAsked by Kathryn C., January 2020
We provide three suggested time limits for each box based off of a group’s
skill level, but many of our players play without a time limit. The time
limit is only enforced if you want it to be.
One person can play any of our games solo. If using the time limit, we
would suggest adding some additional time when playing with only one
person. Most of our games are designed to have at least two puzzles active
at any time, so groups will often be able to complete a box quicker than a
solo player, but there is nothing that would stop a solo player from
finishing the game.
Q: Do you play it in one setting or can you play it over several days?Asked by Rochelle R., January 2020
We design each box for an individual sitting, but there is no reason why
you could not play over multiple sittings if you wish!
We have done both. I think it depends on you as the player. I usually hate to leave a game I've already started, but with one of the Conundrum boxes, I wasn't feeling well so we stopped about halfway through and then picked it back up again a few days later when I felt better. I didn't notice a disconnect in gameplay by stopping, but if you need a moment to reassociate yourself you could always replay the last...
Q: Can you buy one box without getting the subscription? Older boxes? Thanks,Asked by Jama E., January 2020
Yes, there are two ways to buy the boxes individually. If you want the
newest and current box, subscribing for one month as a gift, and then
turning off renewals when asked is the best way to do this. You can also
visit our website or our Cratejoy store, where we sell the older boxes that
have already been in the subscription, our gift boxes that are not in the
subscription, and any other special one-off games we might have at the
time. Our website has more details about each box as well, with links back
to where you can buy it on Cratejoy. Due to Cratejoy policies, I can't give
direct links to any of this, but a quick internet search for "The Conundrum
Box" will bring up all of these...
This is the best escape room box I’ve played. I like how they include a sound track and recipes and such. It’s a fun evening and their website works well for hints and such.
Great ciphers and attention to detail. I also bought the special boxes for Christmas and Valentines which were so much fun for the family. I also had a question and got a quick reply. Great customer service.
We have played all of the games from these guys and they just keep getting better and better. Unlike a few other boxes we've played where the game play and storyline seem a bit disconnected, Conundrum does a great job of weaving the two together extremely well. I will note that there are usually more puzzles than the standard game, which I personally love. I'll also note, unlike one big name mystery game, each of these boxes has a definitive end, even if it shares an overarching storyline with later games. It's always frustrating to get to the end of a game and not realize it's the end because it is done part of a larger story and done poorly, thankfully there is none of that nonsense here. I would highly suggest giving this one a shot if you're looking for a fun mystery/escape room in a box style of game.
This was a good time, we played Mardi Gras Mystery. We enjoyed the depth and content of the game. It was a little long, but the puzzles were great. We liked the extras features like the drink recipes and playlists. We are excited to play the next one!
The year is 1927 and the place is New Orleans. We are in the height of the Mardi Gras festival, but it is a crime from three years ago that still has the town talking. A missing King Cake Recipe has rumored to have been found and will be sold to the highest bidder on Fat Tuesday, which is only a day away. The problem is, the person in possession of this recipe is not the rightful owner. Can you determine the culprit and return Mademoiselle Anastasie Bedeau’s recipe
