Q: I got my first box and I wonder if maybe there was a mix up. I got hunchback of nd with elderflower syrup, seltzer, limes, and a bottle of mint julip mix, and no recipe card. Is that right?Asked by Brian A., January 2021
Hi Brian!
Thank you so much for posting! It definitely sounds like there was a mix up on our end. Sometimes the recipe cards slip out of the package during the shipping process, (or don't make it into the box at all on accident), and we sincerely apologize that your box was missing its recipe cards. If you send us your email address (you can reach us by clicking the "contact seller" button) we can email a copy of the cards for the January box. We'll also mail a replacement copy right away!
Thank you for reaching out so that we can fix this! If there is absolutely anything else that we can do for you, please don't hesitate to message us.
Best,
The Intoxicated Intellectual...
Q: Hello, I loved the December box, but have not received notification for the January box, can you give an update of when these will be shipped out? Thanks!Asked by Shantyl B., January 2021
Hi Shantyl!
We are so glad to hear that you loved the December box! We are currently in the process of packing the boxes for the January shipment, and they should be shipping out this Monday. Thank you so much for posting this question, and we look forward to sending you more classic reads and delicious drinks!
Q: The person whom I offered a subscription was supposed to receive a not by email today and never got it.. How can I make sure the note will be sent? Thanks!Asked by France-alia B., December 2020
Hello! Thank you for posting! Usually this happens when the gift email goes to spam, or if we send it to the sender's email instead of the recipient by accident. We just resent the note to your gift recipient, so it should now be securely in their inbox for Christmas. If there is anything else that we can do for you, please feel free to reach out to us!
Have a wonderful holiday!

Q: my daughter bought this and put the shipment address of my ex wife inter\ad of mine. how can I change it to my address?Asked by Tom T., December 2020
Hi Tom!
Thank you so much for posting this question! We can fix the address one of two ways: the gift sender can log back into the account and change the information for the shipping address, or you can email our team with the gift information, and we can change it on our end for you.
Thank you again for the question, and if there is anything else that we can assist with, please feel free to reach out to us! We hope that you have a wonderful holiday!
I have been an Intoxicated Intelectual subscriber prior to it's debut on Cratejoy (during the Beta Launch) and have been satisfied with every box I have received.
My July shipment included the stylish box pictured in this review. Each ingredient compliments the book, and is enough to make multiple drinks. You really could not ask for a more reasonable price for how much is included, and I am constantly surprised by how much they pack into the boxes.
The thoughtful presentation, quality ingredients, and overall value of the box make this a subscription I look forward to every month.
I've been an Intoxicated Intellectual subscriber since the launch, and am so satisfied with the boxes I have received so far! The recipes are creative, and I love reading the extra info that comes in each kit. It has also been a good mix of older and more modern classic books, which I appreciate. Their customer service is also fantastic. Overall, I highly recommend this box!
I love this box. It is thoughtfully curated. I have enjoyed each installment. And I appreciate expanding my cocktail knowledge. Kudos & Cheers.
This is a very cool box. The specialty cocktail ingredients are things I wouldn’t normally buy and it’s fun that it’s paired with a book each month.
I bought this box for my sister and also one for my brother-in-law. They have both really liked the boxes. The cocktails are very yummy and not something they would normally attempt making. The books are welcome as well. Both had read Alice in Wonderland before, but said that it was a joy to revisit it.
My only suggestions are 1) don't send an email ahead of time telling the person what they are getting unless the sender chooses to have that done - these were Xmas presents and so they knew well ahead of the day what they were getting and 2) perhaps have a place where people can suggest classics for future boxes (along with a list of previous ones)?
I bought this as a gift for my daughter. I know she has already read this book but I am not sure if she owns her own copy. Theme of the box was amazing and I loved the ice cube tray. I do think she will love this.
Loved my first box!
Fun, clever, new, on time, great surprise!
This is EASILY the coolest thing I have ever gotten myself! I practically stopped reading books after graduating so subscribing to this box was a good move. It came earlier than expected and the box had so much thought put into it. I even forgot I gave this to myself as a gift and put a cute message in it for me. My boyfriend thinks it super cool too and loved what we got and the other reviews are right about there being more than enough supplies to make multiple drinks. I LOVE this and it was definitely worth the price.
Can’t believe I didn’t write this review yet. Crazy year eh? Got this for my boyfriend and he loved it. Book was “Of Mice and Men” (which happened to be one of his faves) and the cocktail was the Jack Rose, John Steinbeck’s tipple. We are still enjoyinf the cocktails :) Shocked at the value - sentimental and intrinsic - packed into this box. Will get another for us! If you like books and/or cocktail making, this fits the bill!
Our August box featured a classic detective in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "A Study in Scarlet," paired with a delicious and intriguing Earl Grey Martini cocktail.
Our September Box features Franz Kafka's masterpiece, "The Metamorphosis," paired with a surreal and perplexing espresso cocktail.
Our November box features George Orwell's classic novel "1984," paired with a delightfully dystopian Smoked Rosemary Victory Gin.
